The tragic and unjust murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020 caused a tidal wave of anger, frustration, and action to address systemic police brutality and racism in our community, state, country, and world.
I'm embarrassed to say that this happened very near to my home. In fact, it took me well over a month to visit the memorial site where Mr. Floyd uttered his last words, "I can't breathe" at 38th & Chicago in Minneapolis, MN.
The pain and suffering are still apparent, but out of the ashes emerges a new feeling of activism and awareness. I can only hope that the energy around this tragedy leads to positive things.

George and I had a lovely catch-up today - The Photographer's Gallery, The National Portrait Museum, and then some tea and scones!
He *really* wanted to help me stalk the bunnies but he's such a good boy he stayed put and watched with the keenest of interest.

The Grand Magazine. Part of the 'elaborate angled ventilation system with shutters included to keep the powder dry ... No iron was used in the construction of the magazine to prevent accidental sparks, with the... shutters sheathed in copper."
Visited George Pearl Hall a few days after graduation. I think I will remain nostalgic for some time to come. I'll miss this place. More at my blog.
