SSR'S CLF1, 4910, G514 & RAILPOWERS CLF4 HAVE COME TO GRIEF AT ROCKVIEW AFTER A GRAIN TRUCK FAILED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN, TRUCK DRIVER IS FINE & TRAIN CREW ARE OK BUT VERY SHOOK UP.

On Tuesday 12/11/2024, 7PM5 (pacific national intermodal) is seen at Millswood (Adelaide) with nr109-nr85-G538 in charge. I was going to go all of 2024 without aiming a camera at a bog-standard nr leading any train but didn't.

G529 and XR555 approach Ouyen in north-western Victoria with 9150 loaded export grain from Murrayville and Underbool. Not many trains run along this branch line, although it is speculated that more grain will be railed from this region through Geelong and/or Melbourne with the closure of the standard gauge line to Pinnaroo in South Australia in 2015.
XR552 and G525 coast into Gredgwin at a thrilling 25km/h as 9150 loaded grain train from Quambatook to Appleton Dock.
Gredgwin is located on the Robinvale Line, just South of Quambatook, however the line is only booked in until Manangatang, 54km's South of Robinvale.
From March 2018 as part of the "Murray Basin Rail Project" the Sea Lake (Kulwin, however currently booked out) and Manangatang (Robinvale) Lines will close for 5 months so they can be converted from broad to standard gauge.

On Wednesday 2/1/2019, an early 2182s (loaded GWA grain ex Tailem Bend) is seen gliding along at Mile End (Adelaide) with G533-CLF6-alf23 in charge.
This was the first time a Freightliner-liveried G has led a GWA grain between Tailem Bend & Adelaide.
8161, G523, XR559 & X50 leading the Mildura Fruity (7902V) out of Geelong, through Corio en route to Appleton Dock. 09/07/21
G522, X43 and XR557 power away from Ouyen as 9101 empty container service bound for Merbein, just North of Mildura.
From August 2017, the Yelta and Murrayville lines will close for an anticipated 5 months so they can be converted from Broad to Standard Gauge.

On Monday 9/12/2024, 1423s (Qube Balco) is seen on the south outskirts of Two Wells (SA) with G521-RL310 in charge. Old Port Wakefield road is in the foreground.
G536 & G541 lead 9306, the up Tocumwal goods on approach to the small central Victorian town of Toolamba, en route to Appleton Dock, Melbourne. 19/01/22
4VK5 led by GM22, 48s35, 48s34 & G514 passing through Hoppers Crossing. The empty grain departed Maldon, en route to Birchip to load. 17/09/20
On Sunday 8/9/2024, 2102s (Qube wagon transfer) is seen at Kanmantoo (SA) with G521-RL310 in charge. Must admit I wasn’t expecting a load of fresh air. This train had earlier moved containers between Bordertown and Melbourne.

I had been hoping to get the 421 leading but still seeing it even as a trailing unit was good enough.
On Thursday 20/2/2025, 1421s (Qube Balco) is seen approaching Gawler River road (between Virginia-Two Wells, SA) with G521-RL309 in charge. It’s believed that G521 has been used on every Qube-operated Balco/Rasp since November.

V/Line's G517 leads a FreighRail 81 class on a Sydney to Melbourne interstate freight at Yanderra, New South Wales. The date is a bit of a mystery - definitely taken during 1994, but I made trips to NSW in March, April and September that year and my note taking wasn't up to scratch.
Both locos are EMD-powered and were built in Australia by Clyde Engineering to model JT26C-2SS.

9 x G class locomotives were sold to SCT Logistics by Pacific National under the direction of the ACCC in February 2007. G514,G532 were 2 of these included in the sale . Once the new SCT locos came, they were initially leased out, before being sold to various operators.
On 15-7-08 G514,G532 are just starting to unload an El Zorro grain train into the Mallala Grainflow facility.
On Wednesday 12/3/2025, 1421s (Qube Balco) is seen approaching Angle Vale road, Virginia (SA) with G521-RL310 in charge.
On Thursday 24/10/2024, 1423s (Qube Balco) is seen approaching Johnson’s road, Calomba (SA) with G521-RL310 in charge.
In what would be one of their first runs through NSW in the QRNational "Eagle" livery, G516 and G534 combine to work 3MB7 north through Paterson. The two QRNational G Class had been repainted to launch QRNationals new Melbourne to Perth service. Despite being initially used on the east-west services, the two G Class would spend more time on east coast services until the introduction of the LDP Class.
