Broad gauge QUBE Logistics loco G532, with VL353 out of sight, waits for its train to be loaded at Ultima, Victoria. I believe most of the loading is export hay in containers - 30 September 2022.

G515 leads 8242N loaded Goonumbla copper/gold ore train into Goobang Junction. This train is loaded at a siding at Goonumbla from the nearby Northparkes Mine. The ore is processed and loaded into half-containers for the trip to Port Kembla for export.
On Saturdays, the train typically runs from Goonumbla to Goulburn, to stable and await it's path into Port Kembla.

G535 and EL60 depart Stockinbingal, bound for Parkes with 3854N empty AWB grain. The train had stabled in Junee overnight, having arrived in the early hours of the morning from Inner Harbour. G535 really doesn't look the same without SCT logos.
The recent re-introduction of CLP8 to traffic has presented enthusiasts with a nice array of older stock to sink their teeth into.
Empty Tailem Bend grain 1281S breaks through Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills. G533/ALF18/CLF5/CLP8/GWA002 are in charge on the 5th of April 2021.
P&OTA's 8114N freight from Warren to Port Botany (via Cootamundra West) has a shocking record for on-time running. Seen passing through Werai is G512, 8044 and 4814. The return working, 1813N is due to depart Port Botany around midday on a Saturday, although when the inbound train is running many hours late, this is quite often a pipe dream!
G512, despite the SCT livery, is now owned by CFCLA. It is the only G Class that CFCLA own that has not been repainted from the livery it was purchased in (G511 is in SSR colours, and G515 is in CFCLA livery with the name "Rising Fast" applied).
8044 is owned by Engenco (formerly Coote Industrial), while 4814 is owned by Junee Railway Workshops.
As of late 2011, P&OTA lost the contract for the Warren train, it is now operated by Independant Rail.
G535 has just shut down and stabled the AK cars for the night on the old loco road at Tennant Creek after arriving from Alice Springs on 4-11-20
Three Freight Australia G class locos, led by G523, are hauling SCT Logistics Melbourne to Perth service 6MP9S through Yorkeys Crossing, South Australia on 2 March 2002.

In 1928, the New Zealand Railway took delivery of three new Garratt type locomotives. These double Pacifics, named the "G class" were purchased to satisfy heavy hauling needs over the tight curves and steep grades of New Zealand. Unfortunately, these locomotives proved to be too strong, damaging the light freight cars used on the line, and were too hot in the many tunnels that dotted the landscape. They were eventually scrapped in 1937 and rebuilt as six standard Pacific class locomotives.
This is my kit bash of two copies of LEGO's set #10194 "Emerald Night". This "Emerald Garratt" is equipped with two medium Power Function motors, one inside each tank. The IR receiver is placed in a similar position as the Emerald Night, but the battery box (while I as of yet do not own one) sits inside the boiler where the firebox would be. There is also a Power Functions switch inside the cab (plus a bunch of wires) to reverse the direction of the rear motor so all the wheels turn in the same direction.
While the original G class garratts were scrapped and each turned into two Pacific class locomotives, I took the opposite route and rebuilt two Pacifics into this G class garratt. I quite literally built the locomotive on top of the chassis of the Emerald Night wheelsets.
I tried building this locomotive without using any outside parts, but it proved impossible. However, the number and type of extra parts were pretty low, and the majority of them were basic bricks and plates. No extra cheese slopes were needed.
G540 leads 48165, 8169 and 8176 out of Parkes Yard with 9825N empty wheat. This train had originated at Port Kembla Inner Harbour, and arrived in Parkes earlier that morning behind the two 81 Class. The G and 48 had arrived the previous night with an empty Westons Milling grain train from Enfield, stowing the wagons at the sub-terminal, and stabling the locomotives in Parkes. Rather than running light engine to the sub-terminal (the system of safeworking is Train Order Working), it would have been easier to attach the locos to the front of the incoming empty wheat, as can be seen here.
C506, G513, C509 and C510 power out of town towards the GrainFlow facility at West Wyalong to load as 3345.
This train operated as 4343 from Newcastle to West Wyalong, where it was then split into two rakes and loaded at the GrainFlow facility north of West Wyalong. Once the two rakes were loaded, they combined as 3444 back to Newcastle.

G533 leads CLF4 and G511 north through Menangle with 5MB7 Melbourne to Brisbane freight.
If some of these photos look familiar, they probably are - I'm organising my photos from 2008, and taking the opportunity to rework some of them and either upload for the first time, or replace older photos.
G533 leads 4814, 4836 and G535 north through Wyee with 3498N loaded Canola bound for Cargills on Kooragang Island. G533 and G535 are both owned by AWB, and are used by El Zorro to transport AWB wheat in NSW and Victoria. The two 48 class are owned by Junee Railway Workshops, and are leased out to El Zorro.
I'm not sure if I was aware of it at the time, but the Sydney to Melbourne Intercapital Daylight express had less than two weeks left before the service was withdrawn. Returning from a couple of week railfanning in New South Wales I took the opportunity to ride the train on my way home to Adelaide.
On 20 August 1991, at Junee NSW, there was just enough time to hop down and grab a quick shot of G518 on its train before hopping back on and continuing my journey, something you wouldn't try today!
