Gate near Ty Mawr, Tywyn.

Redfish Lake, Idaho. The Sawtooth Mountains tower above the lake. Luckily the wind was down so the reflection was superb.

Tsuzumi-mon gate and Hospitality Dome at Kanazawa station, Japan.

This 13.7 meter-high gate is supported by two thick pillars, and is designed to evoke the image of the tsuzumi, the drums played by hand in Noh theater and Kaga Hosho performances.

The Hospitality Dome (Motenashi Dōmu) uses 3019 glass panels to create a bright, wide space for visitors while also shielding them from the elements.

As so often happens to me, when sharing a series of photographs from a day, the last to be shared was the first to be taken. Reflecting on the day, the vast changes in weather, the stunning views and the general fun of the time, it is interesting for me to think about my first impression of what I thought the day would be.

To me this image is the perfect depiction of the start of a landscape photography session. There is a call to cross the gate which bars the way and to explore the places which as yet are enshrouded in murky mystery.

At the very least, I think it's an image I enjoyed coming back to.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California

I've seen these gates for decades. I always liked the stags on the gates; a timeless design.

The Golden Gate Bridge, some of you might have seen this shot of mine already but I saw it the other day and I wanted to share it with you again. I was so happy with the perfect clouds, I love the reflection of the bridge on the water, with this little haze, I think it is one of my favorite shot I took!

Grote Markt, Antwerp

The Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor) is an 18th-century neoclassical triumphal arch in Berlin, and one of the best-known landmarks of Germany.

It was a learning experience on the road with my new camera. I had just brought my Nikon D810 a few days, before I left for my short trip to Berlin, so still getting used to it. But hopefully I am back regularly uploading photos again :)

Following the roads in Costa Rica we noticed an oversized and most frequent sign for "The German Bakery". The first sign was 34 KM out and we counted 8 until we arrived in the town where it was located. They served tasty pastries and excellent lattes, so you can tell we stopped although not yet at our final destination.

However, the noise coming from next door was overwhelming. This young guard dog barked for the entire time we were there, one would think his voice would at one point give out. Note, I took this shot with my long lens.

This gate addiction is getting serious.

Its that gate again! Another shot from my misty morning walk on Sunday morning.

Elitist Gates

I hope someone can help me with a maths question. It's for a friend of mine.

If a business has 7 billion customers and sells each one a product annually which brings in $10USD of profit. After five years how much profit will be accrued?

Many thanks

The canyon beyond this gate always holds my imagination. The temperatures have cooled down making life and the healing path more bearable. I hope everyone is enjoying the change of season!
