This photo has been taken as part of the scientific effort of the salvage archaeologist team H.U.N.E. to document the Sudanese Arab tribe of the Manasir and their cultural landscape 'Dar al-Manasir' situated at the Fourth Cararact of the River Nile.
The homeland of the Manasir will be submerged by the reservoir lake of the Hamdab High Dam (Merowe Multi-Purpose Hydro Project) in the very near future and all inhabitants have to be relocated by the Sudanese government.

Doreen Harrison was born in Scotland to English Jewish parents from London. Her mother had been born in Australia to English parents. Her father was in the dressmaking materials business. Her family came to Manchester when she was young. She joined a Withington Girl Guide Company as a girl in 1918. The family lived in Mauldeth Road, Withington. Then in c.1928 she and Miss Shalom and Miss Lapin started a Jewish Guide troupe in Fallowfield. Reverend Mendosa helped get support for it.
Goal: Provide a guide for the congregation to the various ministries we have to offer.
Audience: All ages that are not involved already. Also, new people who visit during easter service.
Direction: Started with www.flickr.com/photos/andyakins/4383191860/ Decided that the design was too bold and 'in your face'. Decided to go more simple so it appeals to everyone.
Project: Ministry Guide. Front Cover and Backside.
Other important info: This will be printed on 11x17 paper and folded into magazine form.
Is it too boring or is this the way to go?

I was never actually in the guides. They wouldn't let me join as I was so much trouble in Brownies. But the left patch is a Girl Guides 80s patch of a Kingfisher, the middle is my Pixies patch (I was a firster but I've used my firster and seconder patches on another shirt and coloured them) and the last is a Brownies achievement patch for being funny and entertaining, I believe.
Herald snake (Crotaphopeltis hotamboeia)
This species is one of the commonest in Zimbabwe. The variation of the body colors is incredible. I found black and grey individuals. The picture was taken in the Antelope park (Zimbabwe)

Whether at workshops, or working on a project, I'm always cutting LEDs to fit flush into a breadboard. This usually involves me holding the LED against the side of the breadboard, and then clipping the anode leg. That leg gets clipped just a millimeter shorter than the breadboard itself. Then the cathode in turn gets cut slightly shorter than that.
With enough repetition, I've gotten pretty good at it, but then there's breadboards like this one that are already mounted on something, or have something blocking access to the edge. Other times, when hosting a kids workshop, they always forget which leg they cut first, or often cut straight through both legs of the LED.
To resolve this problem, I turned to 3D printing. I modeled a small cube that was the depth of a typical breadboard, less a couple millimeters. Then I put two cylinder holes of 1mm each in diameter, space exactly 2.5mm apart - the distance between breadboard holes. Finally, I notched out two more millimeters on one side of the cube. The result when printed is an easy to use LED cutting guide.
Simply place the LED legs through the holes. Put the anode (longer leg) on the deeper side. Put the cathode (shorter leg) on the other side, and slide them both through the holder. Break out your clippers, and trim flush with the LED holder on each leg. If you cut too far when cutting the anode, and accidentally trim the cathode too, that's not a problem. You can clearly see which is which, and then just trim the other side from the cathode. Your freshly cut LED will now fit perfectly flush into a breadboard.
This is big news where we live. It's a guided busway system where an adapted but otherwise ordinary bus runs along the tracks. It will join St Ives to Cambridge. It's still being built.

Day 5 - Single in October FE 55mm f1.8: Really pleased to have some of my shots published by, and along-side Simon Carter in the new Frog Buttress climbing guide. Someone who's work I admire very much.
The new guide is co-authored by Matt Hutton and Simon.
I couldn’t resist making a few candid shots in the Ben Youssef Madrasa. On the streets of Marrakesh it’s regarded rude to point your lens at the locals – but in one of the major tourist attractions of the city a camera doesn’t attract attention.

On a boat trip in Varanasi with this man as our guide. The Ganges river flows through Varanasi. Dead bodies are burnt in this city and the ashes are thrown in the river. People then bath in the river believing they are cleaned from all evil..
the Minority Village in Kunming is worth the visit. These are some of the guides for this tourist area.
These guide poles stretch across the causeways to Lindisfarne, I think they were way markers! I'm back home after our holiday. This was my favourite shot from Day 1.

Route A seen approaching Trumpington 'village' (or Foster Road) on the Southern section of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. The people in the shelter will have to wait for this to reach the Park & Ride and turn around. The arrivals board read 7 minutes, but I think it was a little longer. Quality is not so great as it was a mobile phone shot under tricky lighting conditions.

The lady pointing is the tour guide who seemed slightly bemused to find we were a bunch of long haired musicians, but took it all in her stride. Obviously we won her over in the end...
