For my Mother on Mother's Day 2023.
I wish all mothers a happy day today. They often do not realise how much they are a guiding light in our lives, shaping our hopes and dreams from the earliest of days. Today is particularly poignant for my Mum. This is her first Mother's Day in 67 years that she has not shared with my late father. Hard to believe it has been six months already since he died. You are loved Mum.
Saved time, money, and avoided the crowds and the 'upper and middle canyons'. A Di'ne [Navaho] family owns 15 sq. miles of land with 3 canyons. With a family member as guide, who played here as a kid, we had the tour of our time in Arizona.
When the light of the day passes, the Cape May Lighthouse guides the weary fisherman back home. What is *your* guiding light when the world gets dark?

Unfortunately often difficult to take a real camera on our climbs...
well our guide seemed relaxed, he was more interested in texts than anything else... if only we knew if he was guiding the shadows to us or showing our way out... oh... it would be so much more comforting if the exit was up rather than down... was crystal city above us or below?
Today the Saint of All the Faithful Dead is celebrated. It is time to remember all our loved ones who left us, who take care of us and guide us on a daily basis in this hard life.
Looking at the sky I felt closer to my dear departed, and I remembered them as if they were still among us.
They gave us a beautiful sunrise today Tuesday.
This photo is dedicated to all our ancestors who have already passed away and who taught us to love and gave us the opportunity to live in this world.

Santo de Todos los Fieles Difuntos
Hoy se celebra el Santo de Todos los Fieles Difuntos. Es un día para recordar a todos nuestros seres queridos que nos dejaron, que cuidan de nosotros y nos guían en el día a día en esta dura vida.
Al mirar al cielo me sentí más cercano a mis queridos difuntos, y los recordé como si aún estuviesen entre nosotros.
Ellos nos regalaron un bello amanecer hoy martes.
Esta foto está dedicada a todos nuestros antepasados que ya fallecieron y que nos enseñaron a amar y nos dieron la oportunidad de vivir en este mundo.

In Japan's Sagano Bamboo Forest, on the outskirts of Kyoto, towering green stalks of the famously versatile plant sway in the wind, creaking eerily they collide and twist, leaves rustling.
If you've ever clicked on a rundown of "places to see before you die" or a compilation of the most beautiful forests in the world, chances are you've seen a photo of Sagano.
Located in the gorgeous Arashiyama district of western Kyoto, the Sagano Bamboo Forest's popularity has expanded in recent years, coinciding with the growing number of Buzzfeed-esque articles that include it on superlative-heavy travel lists.
Though it's the beauty of the bamboo that brings in the masses, those distinct rustling sounds have become an attraction in their own right. A few years ago the Ministry of Environment included the Sagano Bamboo Forest on its list of "100 Soundscapes of Japan" -- a selection of everyday noises intended to encourage locals to stop and enjoy nature's music.

I was sorting through some pictures from our September trip to Costa Rica and came across some decent shots that I had forgotten about.
This fantastic looking bird was guarding a nest on a log that had fallen over a creek at Tortuguero National Park.
