The funniest stand-up comics from across the country take on tattoos, GPS systems, baldness, Obama, and blondes.

Dave's new toy, the TomTom GPS system. It tells us exactly where we are, though normally with an arrow, not a cross. But he's an ACW reenactor, so when he got the chance to choose his wallpaper.... (sigh).

He WON!!! We got a GPS system for the car...AWESOME!

Have you ever get lost in Taiwan when people told you meet me at the corner of 7-11 or 中山路 and 中正路? There are many 7-11 in every corner of the street of Taiwan and there are中山路 and 中正路 in every city of Taiwan. How do I know which one you are talking about? This is the experience that we found in Taiwan while we are traveling. There are many helpful signs but we just get lost. I think we need a good GPS system. But it is fun to get lost sometimes, you will find different road and different scenery which is not on your plan if you have good travel buddy who would not shout to you when you are lost. Enjoy the journey and be spontaneous!

The X21 concept developed by Hyperion Industries last cycle could pave the way for a revolutionized cargo industry. It features survey devices on its sides that allow it to utilize FTL travel without needing dedicated lanes, allowing it to travel directly to its destination.

Pairings with autonomous GPS systems have been yet unsuccessful, although trials are ongoing. Hyperion hopes to get the concept to a commercial state within the next 2-3 cycles.

I love travelling. I have a few days to go somewhere. Yet, I don't know where to go. Always planned ahead my trips, but this time I can't decide myself. Hum...

Favourite portuguese quotation:

"Por isso nos deu Deus tão pouca terra para o nascimento, e tantas terras para a sepultura. Para nascer, pouca terra, para morrer, toda a terra; para nascer Portugal, para morrer o mundo"

by Padre António Vieira

Shortly before heading to DC, I read about the newly finished Air Force Memorial. We decided to stop by and see it.

Since Larry had worked at the Pentagon (which is just across the highway from the memorial) and Mom was somewhat familiar with the area, we didn't have too much trouble finding it. (Having the GPS system in the car helped as well.) After stopping by the Henderson Hall MCX, we walked over to the memorial.

I was impressed. The scale of this memorial is massive--in pictures, it is hard to convey just how big it is. The tallest spire reaches 270 feet, just under half the height of the Washington Monument (which is visible across the Potomac). But the experience is enhanced by the fact that you can stand in the middle of the spires, so that you are surrounded by the height on all sides.

From a distance, the spires are reminiscent of the Thunderbirds' "bomb burst." (Although that image was immediately brought to mind when I saw a picture of the memorial, I didn't know that it was so closely tied to the Thunderbirds; the memorial website led me to that.)

I wrote a Vision Statement for my photography the other day: By leveraging the photographic process [lights, cameras, models, locations, things and everyday people]; it is my intent to capture or create images that speak to its viewer in a most compelling and captivating manner.

We need vision for everything we do that we want to be successful. Stop. Think about that (our careers, our families and our relationships). Where there is no vision, the people perish. Vision is seeing the end result before you get there and working from where you are to arrive at that destination (literally back from the future).

A Road Closed may simply be an indication for us to check our coordinates. We have to make sure we know the destination [for this Season in our lives] and be certain our efforts are in alignment to get us there. Have you seen the GPS systems in the automobiles. You have to do 2 things to make it work: 1. tell it where you are and 2. tell it where you're going. This is VISION. Know where you are and where you are going! Even with the GPS we get off course and the system does a “RE-ROUTE”. It finds an alternate route because it's determined to get you to the destination!

Remember we [all] have the original GPS system! If you acknowledge [HIM] in all your ways, HE will direct your paths. So if the Road is Closed, don't trip – re-route.

So, I decided to brave the crowds and the early mornings to go to the Black Friday sales. Tell me that I'm not the only one who came away from there with a gift for myself. I bought myself a new GPS system. With all the traveling I do for sports, it will come in handy.

1- When is the best time to travel to Egypt?

The best time to travel to Egypt depends on what you’re hoping to see and do while you’re there. If you’re interested in ancient history, then you’ll want to go during the cooler months, from October to April. This is when the weather is most pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 21-26 degrees Celsius. Keep in mind that it does get quite busy during this time, as it’s the peak tourist season.

If you want to experience the country’s vibrant festivals, then you should plan your trip for May or June. This is when Egypt celebrates its Coptic Easter, as well as the Sinai Desert and Red Sea Music Festivals. Of course, you’ll also have to contend with the summer heat, which can be quite intense.

The best time for a budget-friendly trip is during the shoulder seasons, from September to November or April to May. The weather is still pleasant during these months, and you’ll find that hotel prices are lower than they are during the peak season.

No matter when you decide to travel to Egypt, you’re sure to have an amazing and memorable experience.

2- What are the must-see places in Egypt?

There are many must-see places in Egypt, but some of the most popular tourist destinations include the Giza Necropolis, the Valley of the Kings, the Great Pyramid of Giza, and the Temple of Karnak.

3- How to get around in Egypt?

5- How to bargain for souvenirs in Egypt?

When traveling to Egypt, bargaining is a must for souvenirs! Here are some tips on how to bargain like a pro:

1. Know what you want and don’t be afraid to walk away – Before you start bargaining, know what you want and how much you’re willing to pay. This will help you stay firm during the negotiation. If the seller isn’t willing to meet your price, don’t be afraid to walk away.

2. Start low – Once you’ve decided on a price, start the negotiation by offering a price that’s lower than what you’re actually willing to pay. For example, if you want to pay $20 for a souvenir, start by offering $10.

3. Be friendly – As with any negotiation, being friendly can go a long way. Smiling and making small talk will let the seller know that you’re a good-natured person and more likely to be reasonable.

4. Be prepared to walk away – If the seller isn’t willing to budge on price, be prepared to walk away. Oftentimes, the seller will come back with a lower price once they realize you’re serious about walking away.

5. Know when to stop – It’s important to know when to stop bargaining. There’s a point where the price is too low and you’re not getting a good deal. Conversely, there’s also a point where the price is too high and you’re not getting a good deal. Once you’ve reached one of these points, it’s best to just walk away.

One popular choice is to stay in a traditional bedouin camp, where you can sleep under the stars and experience a taste of nomadic life. Yes, this is the gazebo from The Sound of Music. It is in a park just outside of Salzburg. Our tour guide, Helga, found it for us. I thought I knew where it was since we saw it 20 years ago when Jeanne and I were there. But they had moved it.

Helga was the name we gave to our GPS system in our car. When we arrived in Munich we were pleasantly surprised to find that our car had been upgraded to a Volvo with GPS. This is when we met Helga, our electronic guide for the trip. After an hour of learning how to program Helga, which mostly involved figuring out where the buttons were in the car that controlled Helga, all the time sitting in the rental car garage at the Munich airport with extreme jet-lag, we were on our way to Innsbruck, Austria.

I am not sure why we named the GPS ‘Helga’. She had a British accent and the voice of the woman from “The Weakest Link”. She also reminded me a little of ‘Hal’ from “2001 A Space Odyssey” But we were in Germany, so “Helga” was the first thing that came to mind. When we got off of her route she reminded me of Raymond from the movie “Rainman” because she continually repeated the same phrase over and over: “The route contains charge areas”. She also led us down an ox cart path once but was otherwise flawless.
