Sun Goddess
I'm enjoying continued exploration of digital painting techniques, in this case keeping things relatively simple to transform the gold reflector into a glowing sun (see earlier #bts posting). Even more than yesterday's Moon Goddess, this is meant to be more symbolic than some of my more realistic composites. It's a good line to be intentional about - if either of these images was meant to be realistic, the central character would be in silhouette. I think the danger in such composites lies where it's unclear which side of the line the image is supposed to be on.

Union Square is a 2.6 acre public plaza in downtown San Francisco, California. It is surrounded by shops and hotels and is a gathering place for concerts, demonstrations, etc. The name of the square comes from rallies held there in support of the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. In the centre of the square is the 30 metre (97 ft) tall monument to Admiral George Dewey. The column is topped by the figure of Nike, the Greek Goddess of Victory.

You put her down, you liked her hopeless
To walk around, feeling unnoticed
You shoulda crowned her, cause she's a goddess
You never got this

Who Is White Tara?
White Tara is an Embodiment of maternal compassion and healing energy in white, representing purity and serenity
She is known as the Goddess of Seven Eyes—with eyes on her face, palms, soles, and forehead—symbolizing her vigilant awareness and ability to see all suffering.
She sits in a meditative posture on a white lotus, symbolizing purity untouched by worldly defilements.
Her right hand is in the gesture of giving (varada mudra), and her left holds a lotus stem, representing enlightened wisdom.
TheSeven Eyes reflect her omnipresent compassion and readiness to respond to suffering in all realms.
White Tara is central to practices like the Chimé Pakmé Nyingtik, which focus on long life and healing.and meditation. The Practitioners visualize her and chant her mantra to cultivate peace, longevity, and spiritual clarity.
.
White Tara represents the feminine aspect of enlightenment, complementing the more active energy of Green Tara. While Green Tara swiftly responds to worldly challenges, White Tara offers gentle, enduring support, especially in times of illness or emotional distress.
Buddhism entered Tibet in the 7th century CE from India and China. By the 8th century, tantric texts and practices from Indian Mahasiddhas (realized masters) were transmitted to Tibet, especially through figures like Padmasambhava.
Tibetan Buddhism absorbed these teachings, forming schools like Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, and Gelug, each with distinct tantric lineages.
This statue was made as a dedication to Jetsunma Tsewang Lhamo who died in 1995.

A young beautiful lady sits on a wooden deck in a public park and enjoys the sunshine and summer warmth. She meditates, her eyes are closed. She makes an impression of an ancient goddess. Candid street photo.
THE GODDESS IS NEVER LOST, IT IS JUST THAT SOME OF US HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW TO FIND HER.

2024 International Flower & Garden Festival
EPCOT - flower-show display - Bright & Magical!
Orlando, Florida U.S.A. - 4/26/24 - Spring 2024
Beautiful bright colors abound wherever you look during the
annual Flower and Garden Festival, held every March-May.
It features fantastic gardens and amazing Disney topiary.
Could not have been a more beautiful day! Come and visit!
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, inaugurated in 1994, uses specially themed floral displays throughout the park, including topiary sculptures of Disney characters. Guests can meet gardening experts and learn new ideas they can use in their own home gardens. The 30th annual event is scheduled for March 1, with an extended run of two months, leading up to July 5. Each event takes more than a full year to plan and more than 20,000 cast
member hours. Just a joy to behold annually in Central Florida.
