Throughout the ages, stories with certain basic themes have recurred over and over, in widely disparate cultures; emerging like the goddess Venus from the sea of our unconscious.

In Kulasekharapatnam, many male devotees dress up as the Goddess Mutharamman - the local deity.
I made this photo of a man, who had dressed up as the Goddess.
RD23619sc. Over the weekend 23rd / 24th October, 2021, the 15 inch gauge Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in Kent held their annual Autumn Steam and Diesel Gala. And a splendid gala it was too!
This shot shows 4-6-2 GREEN GODDESS at New Romney; it’s a screenshot from a video that I shot that weekend and this can be see here:

This is Dancing Goddess Tea, an herbal blend of wild grape, nettles, red clover and peppermint. It's photographed inside a small sake cup.
100mm, mirror lock-up, polarizer, off-camera flash, tripod (of course).
So much fun looking at all the different interpretations of this theme this morning (with my standard morning COFFEE!)
HMM everyone!
The Green Goddess is the colloquial name for the RLHZ Self Propelled Pump manufactured by Bedford Vehicles, a fire engine used originally by the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS), and latterly held in reserve by the Home Office until 2004, and available when required to deal with exceptional events, including being operated by the British Armed Forces during fire-fighters’ strikes (1977 and 2002). These green-painted vehicles were built between 1953 and 1956 for the AFS. The design was based on a Bedford RL series British military truck......This one was seen at The Driffield Steam & Vintage Rally in East Yorkshire ..

Today I put an image of Durga, goddess of Fierce Compassion on my door as a Protective Deity. It is posted here on flickr by Dipkander Nandi who took it in Chandbali, India.:
Wikipedia - Durga has been a warrior goddess, and she is depicted to express her martial skills. Her iconography typically resonates with these attributes, where she rides a lion or a tiger,[1] has between eight and eighteen hands, each holding a weapon to destroy and create.[48][49] She is often shown in the midst of her war with Mahishasura, the buffalo demon, at the time she victoriously kills the demonic force. Her icon shows her in action, yet her face is calm and serene.[50][51] In Hindu arts, this tranquil attribute of Durga's face is traditionally derived from the belief that she is protective and violent not because of her hatred, egotism or getting pleasure in violence, but because she acts out of necessity, for the love of the good, for liberation of those who depend on her, and a mark of the beginning of soul's journey to creative freedom.
(This is my 500th image to make it into Explore. Thank you, everyone, especially Dipkander Nandi, whose photo of goddess Durga I printed and put on my door)
I used an antique African hand carved wooden fertility statue for this composition.

This is from a series of photo I am doing with the help oof an AI called Dream by WOMBO. The AI takes as suggestions of Keywords along with a piece of art that I have created from the virtual world Second Life as a reference. In the photo the Key words were "Moon Goddess Seleni" and the artwork was called "Sitting Still" which is a different pose. In this one I used the VFXv2 filter as well.
The Bedford Green Goddess, officially the Bedford RLHZ Self Propelled Pump, is a historic fire engine like vehicle built by Bedford Vehicles in the UK between 1953 and 1956. Designed primarily for the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS), it was intended to support civil defense efforts, particularly in the event of a nuclear attack, by pumping large volumes of water from natural sources like rivers or lakes to supply cities. Its iconic green paint and Cold War-era origins have made it a cultural symbol in Britain, often associated with the 1977 and 2002 firefighters’ strikes when it was operated by the British Armed Forces.
