"Time slips away and leaves you with nothing but boring stories of
Glory Days..."
Capturing this sweltering hot abandoned bedroom before it slips away.... just like the glory days.
A sprawling mass of ruins, the Roman Forum (Fori Imperiali) was once the center of ancient Rome, with temples, courts, markets, and government buildings in full swing until the 4th century AD. While all that remains today is an array of ancient columns and arches, the forum is one of the most important archaeological sites in Italy, and excavations occur to this day. Aside from a lesson in Roman history, visitors can get a great view of the Eternal City from the overlooking Palatine and Capitoline hills.
For many years, someone has been flying Old Glory on a home-made flagpole attached to the remains of an ancient combine. This is on a hillside a long way from anywhere in the Nounan Valley of southeastern Idaho. The flag is showing some wear and tear but is in much better condition than the combine. It would be interesting to know why this remote spot and unusual mount was chosen to fly the flag.
This was taken a few days after a 10 inch snow fall. The pool had the best color I have every seen. The colors come from algae and lichen. Different areas of pools and geysers maintain near constant temperatures. Different color algae and lichen grow at these different temperatures.

Low sun and mist; ideal conditions for Glories, coloured rings around your shadow.
6 days previously it was shirtsleeve weather here, now it was many layers top and bottom
When His glory fall... I will never be the same again. He's all that I need.
Happy Birthday Julianne!
God bless you all!
After a brief rain shower, I was out on my hands and knees scouting these lovely native morning glory blooms for compositions. Each flower had its own shades of pink and purple.

Yellowstone National Park
Wyoming, USA
This hot spring is located in the Upper Geyser Basin within Yellowstone National Park. The pool is in the same geyser basin as the Old Faithful geyser and is reached by following a somewhat lengthy but very easy trail that passes numerous other hot springs and geysers. I have read that Morning Glory occasionally erupts as a geyser, typically after some seismic event. Also, the green color was at one time mostly blue with the theory that the flow of water and color of the pool have been impacted by coins and other objects thrown into the pool by visitors.
Yellowstone was the first national park and covers an area of more than 3,400 square miles within the states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

one more from last night — and despite all this gorgeousness, i’m so saddened and sobered by the massive cuts announced yesterday at my former university—six entire academic departments eliminated (Art History, Economics, Geology, Philosophy, Theatre/Dance, and Women and Gender Studies), plus 21 degree programs (and all NCAA athletics)—representing 46 tenured and adjunct faculty, plus additional lecturers with no work offered next year. this is a tragic turn, and my heart goes out to my friends and colleagues affected by these draconian cuts.

Went for a walk Saturday morning 6-26-10, What a beautiful sunrise.
The phrase "Shekinah Glory"seemed
to jump into my head. This Jewish
phrase means the physical Dwelling of the Lord in this world, such as
in the Holy of holies in the tabernacle
or in the Temple in Jerusalem .
and then left after the conquest by
the Babylonians, (see Ezekiel 11:22-25) So how can the Shekinah Glory
be in this world now. Because the
temple is in this world now. If we
have received Christ in our hearts,
we have also received the Holy Spirit
also, who lives in our hearts, which
has been made the temple of the Lord. As I view all these wonderful
pictures of sunrises and sunsets from all over the world, I realize that those
who are Christians, no matter where
in the world we live, are all brothers
and sisters together in the Love of
Christ, all showing Gods presence
in thisworld through Him, all the same,
equal with each other in his Love.
Yes, all who believe in Him are the "Shekinah Glory" of today.
May God bless you all!
1 cor 6:`9-10
19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Colossians 3:10-12
10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Galatians 3:27-29
27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Morning Glory
Another beautiful sunrise enjoyed from Beacon Heights yesterday morning. Always enjoy seeing clouds on the horizon as I make my way to my chosen location, and this morning was not disappointed…

Onundarfjordur,
Iceland
This location is in the West Fjords of Iceland , home to some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the country. As stunning as the scenery is, the light in summer and the direction it travels is something we do not experience back home in Australia. The sunset is almost horizontal and hence the light seems to be cast horizontally on the mountains as seen at the base of the mountains on the right. On this night, we had complete stillness for a time which had us searching for a spot near the Korpudalur youth hostel (highly recommended) to set up and take some images. For the actual sunset, we went further to the town of Flateyri at the end of the fjord.
