These flowers seem paper thin. The wind kept moving them which made photographing a tad tough. I'll need to try again and see if I can get a clearer shot. They are so pretty.. I wanted to share them with you anyways.

Rome is full of ancient ruins, remains that hint of the glory that once was - and though these ruins can go a long way to explain how things once looked, there is no getting around that what you can actually see are just bleak shadows of the past. But then again, these remains are 2 000 years old and that is, in itself, quite remarkable.
This is the right side of the Forum of Augustus, one of the Imperial Fora, close to Forum Romanum. It was inaugurated, but not finished, in 2 B.C. The columns to the left are remains of the Mars Ultor temple, a temple Augustus had vowed to build already in 42 B.C. The little arch you can see right next to the right of it, is the remains of the Arch of Germanicus, one of two triumphal arches built by the successor emperor Tiberius. The forum was used for not only war-god worship, but also legal proceedings and was full of statues - the whole right side of the area, the part we are looking at here, was full of portraits of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, of which Augustus himself was a part.
The walls themselves were made of local stone, but then clad and decorated with Carrara marbles and other more exotic stones (much of which have been removed later on, exposing the walls themselves in a way that a Roman never would have been able to see them). You can also see imprints of roofs in the walls, also long since gone.

Tonight it's very clear
'Cause we're both lying here
There's so many things I wanna say
I will always love you
I would never leave you alone
Sometimes I just forget
Say things I might regret
It breaks my heart to see you crying
I don't wanna lose you
I could never make it alone
I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of
We'll live forever
Knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
You keep me standing tall
You help me through it all
I'm always strong when you're beside me
I have always needed you
I could never make it alone
I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero
You've been dreaming of
We'll live forever
Knowing together that we did it all
For the glory of love
It's like a knight in shining armor
From a long time ago
Just in time I will save the day
Take you to my castle far away
I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero that you're dreaming of
We're gonna live forever
Knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
We'll live forever
Knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
We did it all for love
We did it all for love
We did it all for love
We did it all for love
Sun set across the fields at Cliddesden. This is what I was photographing and then turned round to see the pink sky behind me in the earlier photo. Unfortunately you can just make out a crane on the building site in the distance. These beautiful fields where I take a lot of my shots have a building proposal on them! www.stanhd.com/
Hello Everyone!
While out on a walk, the beautiful colour combination of the Morning Glory and Love-Lies-Bleeding caused me to try and capture a few images. I didn't get too far because the neatest thing happened! A beautiful, friendly cat kept rubbing herself against my legs and purring like mad. I became too distracted to take any further photos, but I felt quite fortunate to have had such a delightful moment in time. Some mornings are colourful on many levels, lucky me!
Thanks a million for stopping by and for your comments which I treasure! Have a wonderful day!

Another wild and dramatic day on my favourite beach. I was just too late for this gorgeous sky that was flying up channel. I needn't have worried as the day was full of wild weather. The waterfall at Cwm Mawr was bright in the morning sun, after the recent rain. Glory days by Pulp is perfect, as there's nothing more glorious than being the first and only footsteps on the beach.
Morning glory (also written as morning-glory) is the common name for over 1,000 species of flowering plants in the family Convolvulaceae. Most morning glory flowers unravel into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before the petals start showing visible curling. They prefer full solar exposure throughout the day, and mesic soils. Because of their fast growth, twining habit, attractive flowers, and tolerance for poor, dry soils, some morning glories are excellent vines for creating summer shade on building walls when trellised. It was first known in China for its medicinal uses, due to the laxative properties of its seeds. 34712
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? is the second studio album by English rock band Oasis. Released on 2 October 1995 by Creation Records, it was produced by Owen Morris and the group's guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher.
Noel Gallagher summed up his own perspective on the album's aesthetic in an interview with Rolling Stone in 1995; "Whilst [Definitely Maybe] is about dreaming of being a pop star in a band, What's the Story is about actually being a pop star in a band." The album has a notable anthemic theme to its songs, differing from the raw-edged rock of Definitely Maybe. The use of string arrangements and more varied instrumentation in songs such as "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "Champagne Supernova" was a significant departure from the band's debut. This style had first been implemented by the band on their fifth single, "Whatever", released in December 1994. It was produced in conjunction with the London Symphony Orchestra, resulting in a much more pop-oriented and mellower sound; this would be the template that would come to define many of the songs on What's the Story. In the BBC documentary Seven Ages of Rock, former NME chief editor Steve Sutherland noted that "with Morning Glory, [Noel] began to take seriously the notion of being the voice of a generation"
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? is one of my all-time favorite albums.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we ended up at this lake, was truly elated upon arrival because I always wanted to catch that mountain in all its morning glory, it is just too bad the winds were so high or I would have been on the lake with my kayak. I don't want to say what lake it is because I'll never get a camping spot otherwise. I camped in a reserved spot as I was expecting to get kicked out but the ones who reserved it never showed up. Guess it was meant to be....
