Created by Tomoko Fuse.
Folded from a 30 cm square of tracing paper.
A look at the unrolled thing can help.
This model is surely better explained in T. Fuse's book Origami spirals, ISBN 4480872620. But I don't have this book.
Immature muscle cells fuse together during development to form long muscle fibers with many nuclei. To identify factors involved in the fusion process, scientists studied fibroblasts—cells that don’t normally fuse. As shown in the microscopic image, adding a gene that makes a protein named myomerger to fibroblasts causes them to fuse together in flower-like clumps of fluorescently-stained cell nuclei. The protein works in tandem with another protein, called myomaker, to cause fusion. By gaining a better understanding of the processes involved in muscle development and regeneration, the research may help lead to new therapies for muscle disorders.

FUSE was an internationally renowned platform for experimental design and typography. it was both a conference and a periodical font/poster release.
Each issue of Fuse brought together four designers or typographers and commissioning each to create an experimental typeface along with a poster based upon a central theme.
The first edition of Fuse was produced by FontShop International in 1991. It is now exclusively produced by Research Publishing, a sister company of Research Studios. Plans for a retrospective book and future conferences are underway.

Picture of a lad graffiting an old building wall in Nantes. The guy was very nice as he had no problem in allowing me to photograph him (except for not showing his face!).

Собирала модули в машине, пока ездили в Уфу. Потом собирала по всей машине потерявшиеся модули. Поэтому результат слегка потрепан, и пришлось вооружаться клеем.

The force that through the green fuse drives the flower
Drives my green age; that blasts the roots of trees
Is my destroyer.
And I am dumb to tell the crooked rose
My youth is bent by the same wintry fever.
The force that drives the water through the rocks
Drives my red blood; that dries the mouthing streams
Turns mine to wax.
And I am dumb to mouth unto my veins
How at the mountain spring the same mouth sucks.
The hand that whirls the water in the pool
Stirs the quicksand; that ropes the blowing wind
Hauls my shroud sail.
And I am dumb to tell the hanging man
How of my clay is made the hangman's lime.
The lips of time leech to the fountain head;
Love drips and gathers, but the fallen blood
Shall calm her sores.
And I am dumb to tell a weather's wind
How time has ticked a heaven round the stars.
And I am dumb to tell the lover's tomb
How at my sheet goes the same crooked worm.
