My car is so old....not quite ready to be called an antique. But with aging cars, always a good idea to keep a set of spare fuses around to keep the electronics happy.
Each fuse is about 1/2 inch across, 3/4 inch top to bottom (so with negative space, the photo is just under 3 inches across and about 2 inches top to bottom).

Found this old FUSE in my husbands work shop.
In electronics and electrical engineering, a fuse is an electrical SAFETY device that operates to provide over current protection of an electrical circuit.

Having completely missed the boat for Macro Mondays I thought I would console myself with an image for the 7DWF group’s Crazy Tuesday theme. The weekly themes here are always fun and I find it a much more relaxed, friendly and less precious affair than Macro Mondays. This week the theme is Fruits in B&W.
So, a rummage through the fruit basket produced some interesting possibilities. Sadly I completely forgot about the pineapple in the fridge (memo to self: another time).
I took a pair of pear sets based around a pair of pears. I wanted to get a mountain effect and to emphasise the textures in the stalk and the delicate pattern in the fruit’s skin which I thought might add interest in black and white.
It’s a bright day here (and we British will soon be complaining about the heat) so creating some directional lighting was fairly easy with the selective shutting of curtains in the dining room studio...
I preferred this set for the diagonal flow in the composition. I stacked six images to get the depth of focus at this distance. The composition worked better flipped horizontally.
It looked like a bomb... or perhaps I play too many adventure games :)

[Directional sunlight from a window; tripod; remote release; hand focused with VR off. Blue paper background (a mistake - orange would have been far better for isolating the background in the B&W conversion).
Stacked in Affinity Photo; tweaked Contrast, Shadows and Highlights and Vibrancy.
Sharpened with Clarity and Unsharp Mask filters. Horizontal flip to keep the viewer on the page :)
Converted in Silver Efex Pro 2018 starting with a dark and moody preset, emphasising the textures selectively in the stalk and getting a suitable brightness balance between the stalk the skin and the background. Selective darkening of the individual edges but no vignette. Cropped very slightly to get the pear surface to exit in the bottom right corner.]
Millie, c’est un peu comme un vieux tableau électrique : il suffit d’une étincelle pour qu’elle “pète un plomb” avec éclat !
On pourrait même dire qu’elle a un talent inné pour faire sauter les fusibles, à tel point que l’on se demande si EDF ne devrait pas lui envoyer des royalties 😉
Mais bon, au moins avec Millie, on ne s’ennuie jamais : quand elle perd son calme, c’est toujours spectaculaire, comme un feu d’artifice… sauf que là, c’est la colère qui explose !

Millie is a bit like an old electrical panel: it only takes a spark for her to “blow a fuse” with flair !
You could even say she has a natural talent for tripping circuits, so much so that you wonder if the power company should be paying her royalties 😉
But hey, at least with Millie, life is never boring—when she loses her cool, it’s always a show, like fireworks… except this time, it’s her temper that’s exploding !
