FCCT has partnered with urban food groups throughout Austin to build a community that supports making healthy, local food available to everyone, including partnering with Keep Austin Fed for a community egg drive on Tour day.
The tour will have 14 coops, including both backyard and community participants. In addition to schools, a community garden, and a farm, a Community First! Village is on the tour. Visitors will see how collaboration between volunteers, artists, and the homeless—and formerly homeless--work to create the Genesis Gardens program.
Maps are $12 each and can be shared with everyone in your touring party. Create your own custom tour, on two wheels or four. You can join the Bicycle Tour de Funky Chickens, hosted by the Austin Cycling Association. Rides for various levels and distances will be available.
This year’s tour benefits the New Farm Institute, which is “working to inspire a new generation of sustainable farmers in the urban fringe.” FCCT in partnership with the Austin Permaculture Guild will create a food forest for our beneficiary. The tour is an event of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc. and welcomes your donations.

So here's what happened to a pair of socks I got for Christmas. Lol. I love crazy socks, and I love up-cycling.
I just knew it would make the perfect sweater for Howleen.
We didn’t plan this kitsuke. Tulay (my best friend) actualy got her Kakeshita out to measure up the sleeves for a juban. But before we knew it we made this funky maiko inspired kitsuke out of it. It was done very quick so not everything is perfect (to long darari knot for example) and we also grabbed some items on the fly. But the overall look it funky, bright and Iki!
I loooooved making this wedding cake. The bride and groom came over for a meeting and the bride found a similar photo in the books and fell in love. She actually added the burgandy to the wedding so she could have this exact cake. It is a 6, 9 and 12 inch all done in chocolate mud. They were definitely one funky couple. :)
I totally love paper...all kinds of paper...note books, post its, Japanese paper, wrapping paper, books etc etc...this is a note pad for beside the phone and underneath is a collection of beautiful post its in various sizes. Obviously I did play with photoshop!

I made it from Cath Kidsons fabric which is my friend sent it to me from UK.
