FCCT has partnered with urban food groups throughout Austin to build a community that supports making healthy, local food available to everyone, including partnering with Keep Austin Fed for a community egg drive on Tour day.
The tour will have 14 coops, including both backyard and community participants. In addition to schools, a community garden, and a farm, a Community First! Village is on the tour. Visitors will see how collaboration between volunteers, artists, and the homeless—and formerly homeless--work to create the Genesis Gardens program.

This year’s tour benefits the New Farm Institute, which is “working to inspire a new generation of sustainable farmers in the urban fringe.” FCCT in partnership with the Austin Permaculture Guild will create a food forest for our beneficiary. The tour is an event of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc. and welcomes your donations.

Meet Molly. Her home is one of the funkiest I know - under our bed. I spent all week photographing her in her funky abode - feeling funky myself, sliding on my stomach under my bed, in the heat, in a dress, with kids walking on my calves...Definitely a funky subject this week!
I have several more of her in my photo stream : )

A love of colour and design, led me to create these 'funky' tea cosies. I have given many away to friends and relations, but still have them in my knitting collection.Individual photos of these tea cosies can be found in GaelicKiwi's flickr photostream.
Glen kindly invited me into his suite for a short while, while there he showed me this really funky old radio (a Morse Electrophonic), gotta love those disco lights.
The radio was purchased by Glen's father-in-law in the early 1970's, and he and his wife have dragged it around with them ever since, through many different moves...
When I think of "funky" two things pop into my mind: doing the "funky chicken" dance at high school football games (from which I am remarkably removed ;), and "play that funky music". As far as "funky" clothes or get-ups I am just. not. So my inspiration came from one of the definitions of the word, "different from the ordinary in a way that causes curiosity or suspicion"... These beads are not typically "my style" however I was drawn to them through a home party presentation of "31 bits." This organization teaches women in Africa to create these beads out of recycled paper strips - I know, isn't it incredible?!? So when I wear these out of the ordinary pieces of jewelry I consider these extraordinary women making beauty out of discarded scraps and marvel...
It's a blue whale of an automobile with the best decals of any car in Vancouver. I always see this car walking down Robson Street. Mad props to whoever decorated this car!
