Ok, so it took 1 - 1/2 years, 742 pics, 22, 642 views.......for what it's worth........ and a couple hours later.................DROPPED like a hot potato!! LOL!
Not the typical view of the house. Even the guide books and brochures had a rear view. I can only think it must be because the light is not really good from the front making it less photogenic.
Nevertheless, important guests, and doubtless the Royal Family themselves, will see this view of the house as they arrive.
So I found out that my favorite band The Hives were playing in Oxford, Mississippi on May 26th. I was tempted to go but I thought that making a special trip just to see them was a tad...frivolous. Then it hit me that I could spend several days exploring the Mississippi Delta region and suddenly the trip took on new possibilities...
My only knowledge of "Highway 61" was as a Dylan album and song title. Turns out that Highway 61 is the main artery of the Delta region, running parallel to the east side of the Mississippi River from Memphis clear down to Louisiana.
This is a shot of downtown Memphis. There is a free streetcar (seen rear right) that takes you on a scenic loop of the whole downtown riverfront area. Unfortunately the power was down so I hoofed it.
