These images are portraits of myself, my sister, my mother, my brother in law, our family friend, and in P6_1_Hill, one of our two golden retrievers.
I also had my sister stand in front of a small tree in her backyard for a couple of her portraits to add some background variety, though most of the images take place in front of a tool-shed in that same yard, namely because we felt that contrasted better with what we were wearing.
I also got the idea to have my brother in law carry a pitchfork with the shed door open for some further diversity in scenario and scenery.
Although one thing I should note is that for the first 3 images, I was using the view on the larger digital screen on the back of the camera when taking pictures, as I thought it would be easier for me to line up the portraits just right without having to constantly look through the smaller viewfinder in order to focus on the image.
However, our family friend told me that I was making the image quality more blurry by doing so, and as a result, I switched to using the viewfinder for the remainder of the photos, in addition to using the flash in order to increase the amount of light in the images (it was getting dark out & the sun was going down).
I do think a couple of my earlier images still turned out fairly well, however, which is why I decided to include them in the album.
Also, the picture of me in the album was taken by our family friend, who was helping me test the image quality of the camera, and I thought it was a good quality portrait of myself, so I decided to include it in the album, as well.
Love, love, love her. We met in my second year of university, her fourth. As student leaders she was paid to be my mentor, but we went ahead and became friends instead. And whatta ya know, her name means 'joy' too.
A young cormorant I met on a rainy day in Borgarnes, west Iceland. He didn't mind my presence and kept tucking his head under his wing. I kept clicking my finger a few meters away to keep the birds attention.
The roos are a little tame in the gramps, make sure you hang your rubbish up a tree or you'll find a mess in the morning.
Blake and I met up with Cherie and Mave today. We had an awesome time of Starbucks and shopping! It was a wonderful day. We have to do it again soon.
This guy has sort of become my friend. He will be laying in a branch that is a bit far away from my window. I will make one click sound with the camera. Curiously this fellow instead of running away from the sound, will come towards the sound. Stare at me for a few seconds, pose for a couple of more photographs and then go away. He is doing this for the past 2 or 3 days..
Shandy made a new friend today, a tiny little inch worm! This pic was actually taken by my little sister (she gave me a copy and I applied HDR).
Still inexplicably laced incorrectly. I absolutely KNOW they know better-- that this should be spiral-laced. Oh, well. I'm sure they have their reasons. It may just be too fragile to relace.
