My friend Alice called me today and said that a wood pecker was out on her pine tree and if I wanted a photo to come over. This little gal had been on the tree drilling away for most of the day and fortunately was still there by the time I arrived!!

We think that this is a female Yellow bellied Sapsucker from the books that we looked at but her breast is not yellow........any other ideas?

TiaMaria had a visit today from one of our best friends. Tia is valiantly fighting grade 2 mast cell cancer, and at the moment is doing well. This friend and former neighbor has been part of Tia's life from the start, when she helped transport Tia back, still drowsy, from being spayed by her rescue group; since then, Tia's friend has always been there to help us with transport and through recovery periods after the many visits to the vet. The power of friendship is infinite.

I will be uploading many photos of this beautiful little girl in the coming days, as I go through them. I really loved this one as Savannah refused to go to the park without her stuffed animal :)

52 Weeks of 2021. Mask

I tried my new macro lens, which touts good portrait shots. Not bad, but can be sharper. This was handheld, so tripod may make the difference. It was overcast and tough to get correct skin tone. This is pretty close.
