BR Class 46 No. 46011 winds a lengthy freight out of Bescot Yard on 27th October 1976 heading for the north, as it joins the Grand Junction route to Stafford and beyond. The consist is varied, as they were back in those days, with a van followed by a bogie bolster, which looks like it is carrying rails, followed the a raft of mineral wagons which appear to contain coal. On the right is the back wall of the now demolished steam shed, and behind which can be seen the chevron clad doors of the newer diesel depot, which itself was demolished last year (2014). Background left is the station footbridge and the junction for Walsall. Copyright John Whitehouse - all rights reserved

This is the vicinal tramway monument at Koekelare, Belgium. The diesel railcar is ART96 and it is coupled to open freight van A188227. The ART railcars are heavier variants of normal passenger rail cars or "autorails". ART means "autorail tracteur" i.e. a railcar that can be used for pulling heavy freight trains. Above the driver, where normally the destination is indicated on passenger trams, the word "goederen" is shown. This means freight in Dutch.
The village of Koekelare lost its connection to the metre gauge NMVB/SNCV road side network in 1951 already.
