Lake Ontario, Canada...
To match the actual true colours of this freezing landscape, the colour tones were digitally corrected through layers of the same image at various density levels including monochrome.
Near a small town called Twizel which was built for the workers on hydro scheme dams and canals in the Mackenzie Country. This is just a side arm of the main lake and close to a salmon farm where you can feed the salmon or indeed buy one to eat when you get home.

Taken at the Plage de la Perle on Guadeloupe, French West Indies.
Trees surrounded by freezing fog today when temperature outside Lanark just dropped to -10 degrees. It looked surreal.
I experimented with freezing the flowers in different containers before adding them into the larger container for freezing. I can imagine this being an easier way to create compositions with structure and interest. Again color management is my biggest challenge when editing.

Yesterday we had a mix of snow, rain and ice. At 32F and only a light coating of snow on the ground I had enough of looking out the window. I loaded a selection of cameras, lenses and a tripod onto the golf cart and began driving around the yard. The goal was to shoot from the safety of being under the golf cart roof in order to keep dry but occasionally getting out when needed.
I took this photo because almost as quickly as the snow flakes fell they started to melt, so in this garden container water and snow were present at the same time.
Well we got up at stupid O'clock and headed up to Bryce Canyon for sunrise. When we left it was +10 in Hurricane UT and when we arrived at Bryce it was -3. We waited nearly an hour for the sunrise and here is what I captured. More photos to come in the near future of these magical hoodoos in such an amazing place. Kris..
