Years ago, he waited tables for our favorite Mexican restaurant, later he tended bar at one of the two local watering holes in Montrose, now he helps part time at the Village Newstand, a sizeable periodical store. Smart as a whip, liberal as all get-out, he's a great guy to know.

Kasese Freethinkers Club is a group of few bright brains in Kasese Town western Uganda and mostly they are teachers at Kasese Humanist Primary School. Our aim is to enlighten our students and public in Kasese district about the different aspects of life not limited to good health, good feeding, environment protection, gardening, humanism, debate, explaining the dangers of superstition in our communities and helping the youth to be more self-reliant.

Many of our students in Kasese come from poor families, they face problems related to poor feeding and lack of enough basic needs hence poor performance in class or even in different social activities.

Architect, engineer, visual artist and freethinker John Körmeling (b. 1951) is the designer of the Dutch pavilion, Happy Street, at the World Expo Shanghai 2010. His designs contain ironic observations of our often uniform tastes and habits, combining almost cartoon-like forms with such trivial items as fairground lighting and advertising. Körmeling’s recent projects include ‘Hot Spring’ a 25 meter high map in the Japanese town Matsunoyama that visitors could climb at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennal in Japan; 'Drive-In Wheel', a giant Ferris wheel for cars on which drivers can briefly escape the traffic jam.

This was a 9/11 ad in the New York Times. The Freedom From Religion Foundation is the largest association of freethinkers (atheists and agnostics) in the United States. FFRF has been working since 1978 to promote freethought and to keep state and church separate.

The Foundation promotes freedom from religion with a weekly national radio show, a newspaper, a freethought billboard campaign and other educational endeavors, including scholarships for freethinking students. The Foundation acts on countless violations of the separation of state and church, and has taken and won many significant complaints and important lawsuits to end state/church entanglements and challenge the "faith-based initiative."

This adorable little tot was found down by the wharf at the harbor master's "office" in Port Periwinkle. Yes there is a seedy and strange side to Port Periwinkle. In spite of the hoopla about the Zapps and their world famous collection of artifacts and Beauticia Periwinkle's awardwinning School of Dance, foundlings arrive in mysterious ways. According to the article in The Port Periwinkle Freethinkers Press, Kendra Spratt and Violet Glover residents of Harbor Way reported seeing multi colored lights hovering above the harbor the balmy summer night Lyla was left on the wharf. Fortunately at the time she was unable to crawl and was bundled securely in a wooden Krumfish Frozen Fish Stick Crate, when Marcus Spumoni, the harbor master, found the baby. This is the tenth such incident in recent years in the area.

Jessica Ahlquist gave a moving speech about how, when the majority of Rhode Island was spouting hate her way, FFRF was there with love, encouragement, and support.

Psychedelic poster (1968)

By Joe E McHugh

In the 1960s, the American artist Joseph McHugh founded a hughely inventive poster design company in San Francisco called East Totem West. Their distinct kaleidoscopic style appealed to the growing generation of hippies and freethinkers, but more than this, the company's artists reinvented the poster as an artform. Carroll's floating Cheshire Cat and disappearing White Rabbit provided the perfect subject matter for their work.
