Security had to inspect (almost) all our bags. Funny that they didn't examine my excessively large camera bag.

Snakes (or serpents) figure prominently in the Bible and certain Christian sects, where snake handling is done to show that God will protect them from harm. Unless, of course, you're Jamie Coots, who died from a snake bite in 2014 during one of his services (he had also been part of a short-lived National Geographic reality show Snake Salvation), or these two fellows, who have snakes hiding in their boots that are ready to send them to Sheol.

The CBCP threatens politicians who support the RH bill with excommunication. But our representatives are not backing down. To ensure the passage of the bill, they are willing to risk being excommunicated.

On November 26, 6pm, we’re throwing an excommunication party to celebrate our freedom to choose what’s best for our own bodies. Join us at Adarna Food and Culture for an evening of dinner and entertainment as we take a stand for secularism and call for the immediate passage of the RH bill.
Together with the various individuals and organizations that support the RH Bill, let us each declare:
“If supporting the RH bill means excommunication, then excommunicate me!”

A trip to the tiny Hill Country town of Sisterdale, about an hour northwest of San Antonio. Founded in the mid-1800's by German Freethinkers, Sisterdale is just a couple of houses and businesses along the side of the road with just a few dozen residents. The main attraction to the town is the Sister Creek Winery, located in the old cotton gin. Pictures taken Spring 2008. I plan on adding more detailed descriptions in the future.
