“How I wish I was like the water,

Flowing so freely with every drop

Let my every emotion wonder,

No need to start, nor even stop

How I wish I was like the fire,

Burning with every flame up

Leaving a trace of hot desire

As a Phoenix raises its' wings up

How I wish I was like the earth,

Raising each flower from the ground

Seeing the beauty of death and birth

And then returning to the ground

How I wish I was like the wind,

Hearing each whisper, sound and thought

A lonesome and wandering little wind,

Shattering all that has been sought

Oh, how I wish I was where you are,

Not separated by empty space, so far

It seems like we're galaxies apart,

But we find hope within our heart

And how I wish I was all of the above,

So I can come below and yet forget,

The beauty of angels which come down like a dove

And demons who love with no regret.”

The Paiute word for Bryce Canyon means freely translated; "Red rocks that stand like men in a key-shaped canyon". However, this Indian translation describes very well the unique rock formations of this great national park, which for the Paiute - who live here as indigenous people - was a place of their legends.

Deutsch:

Clone me gently! Two beauties from the Bile plateau above Mostar. On this plateau there are several hundred horses that live freely in nature. They defend themselves against wolves and snakes, they look for their own food, they determine their own "natality". They are also helped by good people, kudos to them, who occasionally bring them salt, and in the summer when the puddles dry up, these same good people make sure that those puddles are filled with water. It is a pleasure to come, to be next to them and to watch them graze on the sharp rocks with a view of our magnificent Čabulja mountain. ***

Klon mich sanft! ***

Kloniraj me nježno! Dva ljepotana s visoravni Bile iznad Mostara.

I was surprised to see this lone Coyote in the middle of Downsview Park, hunting for voles. This is the second time I saw this magnificent animal at the park - the first was in January of this year. However, there's a worrying trend - this time it came quite close and didn't seem too concerned with human presence. However, he eventually retreated to a slope on a nearby hill and sat down for the evening. The park gets a lot of irresponsible dog owners with their leash free dogs. I hope the Coyote keeps its distance for its own good. What a privilege it was to see this a Coyote roaming freely in the park. Downsview Park, Toronto.

Loving trying to capture the personality of this beautiful Toucan; a happy fly about freely bird in the Assiniboine Zoo's Tropical House. He is very inquisitive and he loves to pose for certain people, lol. Imagine having to look down a beak the length of almost half your body and eat and drink and carry on like nothing is out of the ordinary.

It sounds as if it comes from a world where sorrow is perfectly ordinary, but still there is more to be said … Everything you fear is true. And yet. Everything you have done wrong, you have done really wrong. And yet. And yet … Shut up and listen, and let yourself count, just a little bit, on a calm that you do not have to make for yourself, because here it is, freely offered.

In these parts the Mule Deer is a fairly mundane subject; I see dozens of them on every outing. And with thousands of images on file, I really don't need more muleys... unless there's some interesting behaviour going on, or the light is special. One morning last month, with a fawn (that had just lost its spots) right beside the road, the light was special... so I clicked away freely.

turquoise mosaic

Mexico, 15th-16th century AD

An icon of Mexica (Aztec) art, this striking object was probably worn on ceremonial occasions as a pectoral (an ornament worn on the chest).

------------------------------------------------

It is carved in wood (Cedrela odorata) and covered with turquoise mosaic. The wood is hollowed at the back.

Serpent imagery occurs throughout the religious iconography of Mesoamerica. The serpent is associated with several Mexica deities including Quetzalcoatl (Feathered Serpent), Xiuhcoatl (Fire Serpent) and Mixcoatl (Cloud Serpent) or Coatlicue (She of the Serpent Skirt), the mother of the Mexica god Huitzilopochtli. The habit of snakes to shed their skin each year probably led to them being used to convey ideas concerning renewal and transformation. Likewise the ability of many species to move freely between water, earth and the forest canopy helped underline their symbolic role as intermediaries between the different layers of the cosmos (underworld, earth and sky).

Spondylus (thorny oyster) shell was used for the bright red details around the nose and mouth of both of this object's serpent heads. Strombus (conch) shell was used for the white teeth. Within the gaping mouths the resin adhesive was coloured bright red with hematite. Beeswax adheres to the edges of the empty eye sockets which were probably originally inlaid, perhaps with iron pyrites.

The reverse of the body is undecorated, although the surface may have originally been gilded, but the heads are worked in mosaic on both sides. Resins from pine and Bursera (copal) were used as adhesives for the mosaic.

"I'm longing to be with you, and by the sea, where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air"

Bram Stoker, Dracula *.*

A seagull is freely flying over us while we are trying hard to catch our dinner in the lobster tour boat. Don't you agree that he looks free and careless? Wishing the same freedom to all the great people in the universe. Have a great weekend dear friends and thank you for your visit.

A wild cherry tree is growing freely with beautiful blossoms.

Wild cherry blossoms have flowers and leaves at the same time.

And I still climbing to northward and upward, alone, excited by the beauty around me everywhere and was not only the view but also the sound. I could hear the murmur from the creeks meandering the rocky mountains, the sonorous silence of air moving freely through the branches of trees crammed with light green leaves, young leaves, spring leaves.

As always, I had a clear destination, I wanted to reach the summits and photograph them closely, but as always, something distracted me along the way, something caught my attention. Perhaps it was a tree with white flowers, or some old stone houses obscured by time, or perhaps was my mind that sometimes wanders haphazardly with memories that I do not know why, invade me. And I never get to where I had imagined it was my destiny.

It had rained, but not too much. The little sun was no longer reaching to the valley and the clouds, that had dropped their load, were breaking into pieces illuminated by the fading sun.

I seized the moment at which a few rays of sun passed through these clouds and showed me a dark blue sky, to make some photos. Few, because it was time to return to not worry anyone and had to descend to lower heights than the 2500 meters in which I was.

And I retraced my steps undoing the route that had taken me so long to reach, forcing myself not to look away from the road as the wonderful show that the splendid nature offered me, had demanded me a time that I no longer had.

Maybe next time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Yang Ming Shan Reserve where wild life were roam freely around the the reserve.

A cold day in January, eight years ago, and this small herd of Plains Bison is trying to decide whether to trust me or not. I chose not to approach them. Just a hunch that they would expend energy needlessly by running away. I've had countless photo ops with these bison - a herd of between 350 and 500 animals, possibly to be expanded soon if Parks Canada gets approval to extend the bison fencing.

The fencing is necessary. Otherwise they might decide to go to Texas for the winter, and that would be problematic...

Currently their space to roam is huge - these critters are not contained in a paddock. They roam freely within an area of about 181 square km (70 square miles). This means that visitors sometimes see them and other times do not. I like that they can cross the river and disappear into the hills, which have no road access.

This is a group of cows, calves, and juveniles of both sexes. Tomorrow: a big bull bison. These guys keep to themselves or hang out in small bachelor groups, except during the annual rut.

Following Germany's surrender and the end of the war, the governments of East Berlin and West Berlin restored it in a joint effort. The holes were patched, but were visible for many years following the war.

Vehicles and pedestrians could travel freely through the gate, located in East Berlin, until the Berlin Wall was built, 13 August 1961. Brandenburg Gate border crossing was later closed on 14 August 1961. West Berliners gathered on the western side of the gate to demonstrate against the Berlin Wall, among them West Berlin's governing Mayor Willy Brandt, who had spontaneously returned from a federal election campaigning tour in West Germany earlier on the same day. It was closed throughout the Berlin Wall period until 22 December 1989.

Today is the 28th day and final day of Valentine's February. An important time to celebrate the true love that exists between 2 people. I can vouch from personal experience that there is nothing more beautiful!

How Do I Love Thee?

Elizabeth Browning

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of being and ideal grace.

I love thee to the level of every day’s

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.

I love thee freely, as men strive for right.

I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,

I shall but love thee better after death.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Nieuwpoort

municipality of Liesveld (population approx. 9,585)

The name Nieuwpoort is derived from the Latin ‘Nova Portus’, freely translated as the ‘New Harbour’. Nieuwpoort is one of the smallest Dutch fortified towns and was founded around 1200 by the Lords of Liesveld and Langerak. Nieuwpoort had a part to play in the functioning of the old Hollandse Waterlinie. In the 17th century, on the recommendation of Prince William of Orange, Nieuwpoort was given ramparts and canals in a fortress with six bastions. A pleasant walk along the fortifications can be combined with a visit to the Oudheidkamer [Antiquities Room] in the town hall, where the history of Nieuwpoort is relived. Nieuwpoort, with its protected townscape, is a part of the municipality of Liesveld, together with Groot-Ammers, Langerak and Streefkerk.

You get a shiver in the dark

It's a raining in the park but meantime-

South of the river you stop and you hold everything

A band is blowing Dixie, double four time

You feel alright when you hear the music ring

Well now you step inside but you don't see too many faces

Coming in out of the rain they hear the jazz go down

Competition in other places

Uh but the horns they blowin' that sound

Way on down south

Way on down south

London town

You check out guitar George, he knows-all the chords

Mind, it's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing

They said an old guitar is all, he can afford

When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

The Waterbuck is a gregarious antelope. Dominant bulls occupy territories which they defend by aggressive posturing and even fights. Cows, calves and young bachelors congregate in herds. The composition of such herds can vary daily as individuals freely leave or join these. They are strong swimmers and when seriously threatened, will take refuge in deep water. They are found in herds of up to 30 strong.
