The Butterfly Rainforest is a can’t-miss living exhibit that features hundreds of free-flying butterflies and birds from around the world along with an assortment of other animals including turtles and fish to experience firsthand. While baking and using some local, fresh eggs we get from friends I admired their beauty. I appreciated their amazing, natural-looking, refreshing colors, how they are fragile, beautiful, and—to me—worthy of photographing. These eggs and their broken shells tell me a beautiful, relatable story. They may be considered broken, may even seem useless, and they still have worth, beauty and purpose.

"La Rivière" by French artist Cédric Le Borgne at Marché aux Poissons in Mons, Belgium.
Two giant koi carp seem to swim across the sky in this installation entitled La Rivière. These majestic creatures, lit from within, captivate passers-by, reducing them to their own scale in relation to nature which fascinates them, but which is gradually disappearing. Artist Cédric Le Borgne draws inspiration from reality and his environment to create unique works of art. He explores public space, encounters and sharing, and his work illustrates the interaction between art and life. Rivière embodies the poetry of nature and the beauty of artistic creation.

I was there during daylight only so I inverted this pic to get an idea what it must look like in the dark. The structure even looks more delicate and fragile.

Insects in my garden seem extinct, since I couldn't find any...instead I found this lonely leaf, burned by the cold.
I have to say, I LOVE this lens bokeh...
There are days that you feel brittle and fragile, days that you need to feel protected and secure. This portrait represents this feeling. I hope you like it.

How would you create if you were going to share your soul with your audience? I've often found myself too boring in the past to create from such a personal place. I realize now that our lives are intricate and powerful and if we get to know ourselves deeply, we can create from that place meaningfully. This image is a very personal one for me, and one of my favorites in the new series. Created by dipping small balloons in plaster and popping them once they dried to look like eggshells, I made this a self-portrait (wearing a bald cap, no less!) and even printed it twice to display at my exhibition. I hope this one resonates <3

Sometimes, one doesn't even have to leave the house to witness an example of nature's processes and events.
Here in Australia, we have the native Lampona sp. white-tail spiders; vagrant hunters often seen within human homes. They primarily eat other spiders that they come across.
Also the well known, non-native Pholcus phalangioides. Commonly known as daddy-long-legs and in some countries as cellar spiders.
I happened to see that a white-tail spider had succumbed to the Pholcus, now neatly wrapped and surrounded in silk.
Spider on spider warfare. Predator and prey. The white-tail lost the battle and ultimately, its life.
Appearances can be deceiving.....Pholcus present as fragile, dainty and ethereal, yet they are determined and proficient hunters.
