April 13, 2009 Flickr, meet Jack. He and a bunch of his friends have come to visit for a few days. Hehe, we are having the house lifted this week (fun!) and so these wonderful things are all over my house, bolted to the floor, and many more will be joining us tomorrow. They are going to leave quite a mess behind them, terrible house guests they are...

Here's a picture of how the homeowner was dealing with the basement flooding she was experiencing. She was vacuuming up the water with a wet vac and carrying the water upstairs, then dumping it in the corner of her property. She was repeating this process between 7 and 11 times a day! She estimated that she was spending an average of 5 hours a day vacuuming, dumping water, and carrying a 50 gal wet vac...WOW, that's over 400 gallons of water a day!

"We had our house lifted in Georgetown, Delaware so that we could replace the entire foundation. Everyone did a great job, and I would recommend them in a hot second to anyone who needed similar services."

This crawl space has plenty of headroom to allow for piers to be placed from the inside. These piers will go down to the bedrock or stable soil. Then the weight of this section of the home that is settling will be placed on the piers. This will stabilize the structure! No more sinking foundation!
