My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Just a mushroom in the forrest :-)

This time I thought I'd show the adult as well as the juvenile.

This was one of the first photos that I took in Oxford of model Jade Forrest when we recently met up recently for a 'Time for Images' shoot. We wandered through University Park before heading into town to shoot against more 'urban' backgrounds.

Plenty more from the various model shoots I've been involved in within my portraits set : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/albums/72157601321043616

Still rather out of my comfort zone shooting people but that's a good reason to do more of it. If anyone is interested in sparing a couple of hours in return for some images feel free to get in touch. Of course it would be helpful if you were based somewhere in the Oxford area.

How far into the forrest can you walk? The answer will be here in a couple of days.

One of many shots I took today while going hiking in the woods of Oslo.

Most of Oslo is forrest, only a small part is houses, buildings, asphalt and such.

Here, I've photographed model Jade Forrest in front of one of my 'favourite' doors in Oxford. This door in Merton Street has always intrigued me as it's quite grand and yet I've never seen anyone use it......

When model Jade Forrest responded to my request for willing portrait subjects and we came up with the theme for the shoot I knew immediately that I wanted to shoot early evening in streets like Merton Street and Queens Lane, seen here. Shooting the subject backlit on these east - west running streets I thought would provide an interesting alternative to shooting with the sun behind me.

Another shot of model Jade Forrest taken a few weeks ago in Merton Street in Oxford. The strong early evening light in this one is a bit harsh so it's not terribly flattering but I liked the glitterball effect created by her dress......

Here model Jade Forrest is framed by the Clarendon Building entrance to the Oxford University Bodleian Library. Given how busy Broad Street was at the time I had to wait a little while to get a clear background, hopefully you agree it was worthwhile.

at a distance in a back-burnt area.

I can't explain this, I just came across it when checking out one of the mountain bike tracks and thought it was interesting enough to share:-))

Forrest, Victoria is a small rural township in the Otway Ranges, Victoria, Australia. After the cessation of logging in the Otways, the Government of Victoria made funds available for the creation of dedicated Mountain bike trails in the Yaugher area, in order to replace the logging industry. Mountain biking was seen as an addition to the already plentiful eco-tourism industry. Mountain biking now makes up a large portion of the economy in Forrest. The area now has over 60 kilometres (37.3 mi) of sign posted "single track". Further details can be found at the official website www.rideforrest.com.au

Forrest is home to the following annual Mountain Bike Events

Forrest Festival - 2 day multi stage event

Otway Odyssey - 100k event

Forrest 6 Hour - 6 Hour event by teams and individuals

Forrest Caves, Phillip Island

Quite similar to my previous upload but here Jade is looking directly at the camera in a very intense way. It's a small change but it's interesting to see the dramatically different feel the photo has.

moss in the forrest on the rocks.

This wall is part of the original Forrest Tavern which was built in the 18th century.

It was one of a chain of taverns along the old coach road from Dublin to Drogheda, and was a popular meeting place for both locals and travellers alike.

The tavern finally closed its door in 1958.

This is located adjacent to runway 16 at Dublin Airport, and indeed when the new parallel runway 28R / 10L is built, this will most certainly be displaced. There is a preservation order for it to be dismantled and relocated when that days comes......

I found three girls named Forrest Rose on Ancestry.com with the following birth dates: 1902, 1905 and 1910 who might be this darling girl. Two of them were born in Ohio. I love those bare feet!

This unknown caterpillar was photographed late afternoon in a forrest near my hometown. Altough the light is usually pretty dim in late afternoon in forrests, there is a big advantage when takeing pictures there: there is almost no wind! ;)
