West window by Douglas Strachan, part of the full scheme of windows commissioned for the chapel in1921.
Westminster College stands to the north of Cambridge's centre and is primarily a theological college for the training of ministers in the United Reformed Church. The present buildings were designed by Henry Hare and built between 1897–1899.
The reason for my visit was the chapel which is hidden away behind the main frontage. This low vaulted space is remarkable for its glass, a complete scheme of windows by Scottish stained glass artist Douglas Strachan, a symphony of swirling forms and rich colours emanating from all of the thirteen windows. The apse and west windows are relatively small, but the windows on each side of the chapel are larger and more dramatic works illustrating Old and New Testament themes respectively..

This college is off the tourist trail and thus not so widely known or visited, but knowing of the glorious glass I enquired about seeing the chapel at reception and the nice lady there happily let me in and pointed me in the right direction which was very much appreciated, and the chapel's windows really are hidden gems.

I sprayed on the stucco 'till I thought I'd faint
With twelve shades of brown and for real I cain't...
Believe all the blandness, oh no artist I ain't
But it's my destiny to be the King of Paint
Finally, I figured out something fitting (albeit strange) for that song!
Yes, the new Taco Bell looks to be already past the stucco and paint stage, at least on the exterior (minus painting the confetti if they do that here), and that's right at one mere month from pouring the foundation! In this pic grooves in the stucco for confetti (on the top of the walls) are clearly visible.
If the old TB remains standing after all (looks like it very well might), the new building will have no choice but to assume the 1117 address that the construction crew is using. Will the old building be re-addressed correctly when Taco Bell vacates? I doubt it but stay tuned...
For the monthly Araf competition, we had to change a photograph 'Beyond Recognition.'
This is one of the many I created.
This is a very local moth, that finds its origins HERE.

cwd1072 - Super Bowl Ad Here in America, the biggest sporting event of the year takes place this Sunday. It's also the biggest event for TV advertisers. Since we're not doing video here, we're going to pretend that it's the biggest event for print advertising too. Create an ad that would be worth the insane amount of money advertisers pay to run their ads during the big game. Your product or service can be real of fictional -- but remember, we're talking big money! Your ad needs to jump out and grab people and make them want whatever it is you're selling. You're free to add text, etc. to your ad -- but it must include a new image taken this week. Also, if you choose to create an ad for a real product, be creative -- don't just steal an existing slogan. Make it your own!
Well, I must say - again I'm sorely disappointed with my inability to use photoshop. I really need to learn how use that tool.
My studio setup was make shift on the spot....been meaning to take the time to construct one properly, but just haven't been able to get to it yet.
There are LOTS of edit mistakes visible on this. But with 11 mins till deadline, I figured I might as well put it up.
Murray apparently is the subject of both my pieces this week. He's a good model :)

(left to right) Hugh Robertson, MP and Minister for Sport and the Olympics, Laurence Tricker, Cyclopark Project Manger and Tony Mack, Cyclopark campaigner and supporter on site with a map of the park’s planned layout.
On Friday 20th August, Hugh Robertson, Member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid Kent and Minister for Sport and the Olympics visited Cyclopark to see for himself the exciting opportunity that this regeneration project will provide for South East residents. Sport England, the government agency responsible for creating a world-leading community sport system of clubs, coaches, facilities and volunteers; have agreed Lottery funding for the project from their Sustainable Facilities programme. Fellow funders include British Cycling, Kent County Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Cyclopark is the innovative park set to bring first class cycling, running and extreme sports facilities to North Kent. The park will be one of the leading multi sport centres in the South of England and Jamie Staff MBE, Olympic gold medallist, World BMX champion and Cyclopark’s champion hopes to develop a ‘Jamie Staff Academy’ on-site for young people to develop their talent. When completed in 2012, Cyclopark will also offer an exciting range of activities for everyone from the enthusiastic beginner right up to the seasoned professional. It will create a lifelong interest in sport and healthy living from youth through competitive activities to old age.
The project will be a Kent Thameside gateway to sport, leisure and recreation through its links to Jeskyns Farm, Ashenbank Woods and Shorne Country Park. Set within 43 hectares of landscaped parkland and with a 340m BMX racetrack, a skate park and a 2.9km circuit track for cycling and running, Cyclopark really will be a unique activity venue.
Mr Robertson was impressed with the scale of the project and offered his support in helping to ensure that Cyclopark would contribute to a lasting legacy after the Olympics in 2012. He says; “Cyclopark is going to be a huge draw for Kent and the wider South East. It’s so important that we provide the facilities and resources for local people to enjoy sport and keep fit and healthy. With the Olympics taking place in the year that Cyclopark is due to open, 2012 looks set to be an incredible year for sport; not only in London but throughout the South East.”
Tony Mack, long-serving campaigner for Cyclopark organised the ministerial visit to raise the project’s profile with the recently appointed Minister. Tony Mack is a Kent resident and was delighted to spend some time talking to the Minister and outlining the huge opportunity that Cyclopark offers. Tony says; “Mr Robertson took time out of his busy schedule for this visit and we were grateful for the opportunity to show the Minister around the site and bring to his attention the huge potential of this highly innovative and imaginative project. I think it’s really important that we raise the profile of the park and ensure that everyone who can help with promoting and championing the project knows what an asset it is going to become to Kent.”
Laurence Tricker, Cyclopark Project Manager also attended the visit and was able to provide background information on the project. He answered a number of questions from the Minister regarding funding, timescales and local support as well as the key question, 'Would it be ready in 2012?’. Laurence says; “If all goes to plan and we secure the last remaining funds we need, we will open in the summer of 2012. With construction starting this autumn and only two years until completion it is vital that we spread the word about Cyclopark and its value as a unique and exciting local project. The park fits perfectly within the massive regeneration of Kent Thameside and will support the positive change already going on in the area. It will not only be a centre of excellence for the cycling world, but also a ‘must see’ for visitors to North Kent.”
The project forms a key part in the regeneration of Kent Thameside which is lead by Kent Thameside Regeneration Partnership (KTRP). This partnership of public and private sector organisations including Gravesham and Dartford Borough Councils, supports and champions the regeneration of Kent Thameside, a hub for innovation and one of the fastest growing areas in the UK covering the boroughs of Dartford and Gravesham and Ebbsfleet Valley. With a commitment to provide 25,000 new homes and 50,000 new jobs over the next two decades, KTRP will make Kent Thameside a distinct and vibrant destination.

Let me introduce you my new outfit made with reverie for Alicia. She want something around my Little Red Riding Hood... So I plan to make a new variation of this theme, with a lot of assorted machine embroideries by combining some designs.
This set include a dress, a corseted over-dress, removable puffed sleeves, a jacket, a petticoat and socks.
Here, you can see:
- The petticoat made of cotton muslin edged and adorned by airy french lace and red ribbon.
- The dress made of antique white Dimity cotton fabric. All edges were trimmed with small floral embroidery and the front buttonholes band is enhanced with lace and gold metal tiny beads.
- The apron made of antique lace lined with cotton muslin, also trimmed with tiny flowers on a scalloped spring green ribbon. A row of teal Miyuki beads highlights the top of the waistband.
- Removable puffed sleeves made of cotton batiste.
I also want to introduce you an other of my new dolls customized by me during the past months.
Her name is "My Alice".
I used a FBL Ambrosial Blythe with a Jenna scalp I bought especially to become Alice.

The unveiling (Groundbreaking) Ceremony for the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts at Fremont School in midtown Sacramento. Complete with performances by local groups, speeches, and tours of the work in progress. Official opening is planned for January 2016.
---
The expansion of residential suburbs in the 1960’s and 1970’s left our central city with stately but underutilized school facilities. Fremont School is one example - a beautiful brick and terracotta building in the Spanish Revival style on a quiet Midtown street. It had a ‘second life’ as an adult education center, which was has since been shuttered.
After much discussion and negotiation, Fremont School now is slated as the new creative home for Sacramento’s Performing Arts community. The high ceilings and large classrooms have the potential to perfectly suit rehearsal and teaching needs for the Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Opera and Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.
There are many technical challenges to adapting an early 20th century non-reinforced masonry building to the needs of 21st century performing arts. We are diving into these challenges with creative energy, confident that this new Studios for the Performing Arts will be a vibrant and creative magnet in the community.

Would it look "better" if all the chairs and tables were lined up or would it look like another wedding reception shot?
I was at Dyer waiting for a late running Q642 to get through town when I heard him call a "clear" at the Dyer diamonds, the crossing of the CN ex EJ&E mains. I started to get set up when a CN work train came rolling through at track speed, running right in front of the northbound CSX freight. Q642 went in the big hole and managed to stop in time as the yellow CN train kept rolling east. So, Q642's conductor had to walk the train to make sure the hazmat cars were all OK. Unfortunately, the train had Route 30 blocked for over half an hour at 600pm, not good. Back on the move, SD70MAC 4827 finally comes into the interlocking.

For Presidents' Day we went touring on the logging roads south of the Chehalis River. Great mountain vistas, though cloudy. Not a holiday for Weyerhauser road crew, as we met four dump trucks and a road grader. I think we should keep our tours to weekends.
Leo has been taking competitive obedience classes for the last seven weeks from our local obedience club. One of our biggest goals over the next few weeks that we have a short break is to conquer the dumbbell. At this point Leo will take the dumbbell from me when it is held and he is given the command, "Take it," but he won't hold it. His reward is the Kong Peanut Butter flavored "stuff-in," although he doesn't get it on the dumbbell. Instead, he takes the dumbbell and gives it up right away (We're actually working on short, two-second "holds.") and then I squirt the tiniest amount of the peanut butter goody and he licks it off. For our little photo shoot he was thrilled I liberally dosed the dumbbell.

The event was organized by the guys over at the Wheat Ridge Fire Department (just east of Denver, CO).
Not the best portrait in the world, but it'll do. I should have caught the hard shadow across my eye before packing it in, but I really don't want to redo it right now.
