Let me introduce you my new outfit made with ingenuousness for Sophia. She desired an "Sailor" dress set.
Regarding the colors, I did a study around the tones of an old doll whose the atmosphere is a very soft sailor witch I love a lot.
So a base of ivory and blue-gray with a touch of tonic red.
This set consists of a dress, an overskirt, removable collar and stockings.
- The high waist overskirt typically nautical have two folds that open onto a striped fabric and bordered by dark green lines. A light silk ribbon bow, small brass buttons and a brass star adorn this skirt.
- The dress is cut in a lined fabric and trimmed with lace and ribbon at the bottom.
- For the stockings and the dress's breastplate, I painted myself red stripes on an ivory fabric to give an old craft touch.
- The removable sailor collar finished by a small red bow, edged with fine aqua silk ribbon
I also want to introduce you one of my new dolls customized by me during the past months.
Her name is "My Bloomy" because she's very inspired by Bloomy Bloomsbury, one of my favorite Blythe.
She is a FBL original Takara Blythe "Prima Dolly Tokyo", I bought her second hand to be customized for me.
Work done:
· Carving of her nose, lips and philtrum
· New full makeup made with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier and sealed with several layers of MSC
· Tiny freckles
· Sleepy eyes
· Gaze corrected
· New lashes
· Eyelids painted with artist Extra Soft Pastels "à l'écu" from Sennelier
· Four new pairs of eye chips hand painted by me using professional Golden iridescent fluid acrylics. Blue(right), Dark red (center), Pink (left), Dark green (center)
· Full reroot using locked loop method with Katsilk 83 Glitter saran, a lovely mixture of two light brown

For GTWL: quirks. As far as shapes go, i think triangles are the most appealing. Meaning, they upset me a lot less than circles. I don't know why--i just find them more forgiving somehow. This is the view from my front door into the hallway. Sometimes i sort of stop and count the triangle shapes. There are a lot of them. That counts as a quirk right? Or is it an illness?

For the second year in a row FIU hosted a group of emerging leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa as part of President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative.

For this transformation, I decided to keep the pot with the tights and create a performance art video with it. Thinking about dancing and cooking, one thing that they both have in common is keeping time. So I decided to keep time in the video by tapping my foot. I changed the tempo of the taps throughout the video to create a feeling of urgency/increasing intensity. The concept and creativity was stronger in this piece than the other transformations, but feedback tells me I still need to work on craftsmanship. I need a better quality video and maybe an installation with multiple parts, keeping the pot and tights included.

Yesterday, February 21, 2012, was a great day for me. My friend Elliot Gilfix, came to Florida on vacation with his parents from Boston, Massachusetts. He wanted to come and shoot birds with me! Elliot is 15 years old and is quite an accomplished photographer and one hell of a young man. I was really honored and humbled that he would want to come all the way down here to Florida to meet me and want to share some of his vacation to be with me. His parents followed us along as we walked the beach looking for some birds to photograph. We didn't see too many birds but that didn't spoil our fun together. We had a great day and I was just thrilled to death that he would want to come and spend time with an old fart like me! Let me introduce you my new outfit made with reverie for Alicia. She want something around my Little Red Riding Hood... So I plan to make a new variation of this theme, with a lot of assorted machine embroideries by combining some designs.
This set include a dress, a corseted over-dress, removable puffed sleeves, a jacket, a petticoat and socks.
Here, you can see:
- The corseted over-dress, fully lined, cut in a wonderful dark shot cotton "Moor" (weaving of burgundy and emerald green threads). These piece is edged by an assortment of embroidery, trims and lace. Tiny gold eyelets and a satin ribbon lacing make the back closure.
- The apron made of antique lace lined with cotton muslin, also trimmed with tiny flowers on a scalloped spring green ribbon. A row of teal Miyuki beads highlights the top of the waistband.
- The dress made of antique white Dimity cotton fabric. All edges were trimmed with small floral embroidery and the front buttonholes band is enhanced with lace and gold metal tiny beads.
- The petticoat made of cotton muslin edged and adorned by airy french lace and red ribbon.
- The assorted embroidery socks.
I take this opportunity to introduce you an other of my new dolls customized by me during the past months.
Her name is "My Alice".
I used a FBL Ambrosial Blythe with a Jenna scalp I bought especially to become Alice.

For Mackenzie's 13th Birthday. She LOVES "I Love Lucy". Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Bottom tier has chocolate panels for the wooden barrel. Grass is royal icing. Chocolate hearts around top tier. Fondant conveyor belt, sign and pink hearts on wires. I also brushed shimmer dust on the pink hearts. The tiny candies on the belt are fondant with royal icing swirl on top of them. I was trying to make them like See's candies. :) Grapes are buttercream frosting.
