SDC and FAO have signed a four year, USD6.3 million (6m.Swiss Francs) programme to rehabilitate eight smallholder irrigation schemes with total land coverage of 700 hectares in Masvingo Province. .The agreement is a major boost for a broader national irrigation rehabilitation framework that has been designed in partnership with a range of stakeholders. It aims at increasing public investment in irrigation as well as providing a conducive policy environment to attract further investment from the private sector..

For the water, I had a vision of wanting some waterfall. To me, waterfalls are beautiful so tranquil. I was not too happy with the way I took this picture. I had taken a full shot getting the rocks as well but once I saw graffiti written on the side of the rocks and a plastic bag I ended up working with what I had. It is sad to see how something that is beautiful to some can just get destroyed.
For some reason the little girl felt quite safe and secure in this house and even though the lighthouse keeper was warmly dressed in a beanie which covered part of his face and an oversized thick woollen coat she liked him and knew she could trust him.
While the lighthouse keeper prepared some iced cupcakes with sprinkles on top and a drink of warm milk for both of them, the little girl noticed an old faded familiar photo sitting on a side table. She picked it up and showing it to the lighthouse keeper said, "Is this my ........."
"Ahh yes, I was going to tell you. My name is Grindle the Good and I am your grandfather."
"Hello Gramps", she shrieked in an excited voice. She had at last found one piece to the puzzle. They both sat down and ate their cupcakes and drank the warm milk. It had been a very long and tiring day and they both drifted off to sleep. When the little girl woke she saw that Grindle was still sound asleep. In one corner of the room she spied a huge old shabby trunk. Taking the key from her pocket she manoeuvered it into the lock. It was a perfect fit. Cautiously she lifted the lid and discovered ..........

David "Lebo" le Batard is a different kind of artist all together. His self-described "Postmodern Cartoon Expressionism" entertains the eyes in a visual storm of colorful imagery and symbolism.
I first heard of Lebo's work in the Summer of 2010 while he was doing a live painting session with the singer Michael Franti during the annual Power to the Peaceful celebration in Golden Gate Park. Lebo is well known for being able to create colorful landscapes, and facinating visual imagery often alongside well known musical acts. To date he has painted alongside icons such as the Beastie Boys, Béla Fleck, Burning Spear, Disco Biscuits, Les Claypool, Arturo Sandoval, Thievery Corporation and Wynton Marsalis.

Award ceremony for valor held at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Mar. 4, 2017.
The following Soldiers were awarded The Air Medal with ‘V’ Device for valor for their heroic actions, Nov. 3, 2017, in the helicopter medical evacuation of U.S. and Afghan Soldiers wounded during a fire fight in Kunduz, Afghanistan. All four Soldiers assigned to C Company, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment (2-1 GSAB), 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, “The Fighting Eagles”, based at Fort Riley, Kansas.
