"There's this abandoned house. It's closed. There's a cat on the windowsill. I think: it must be a clay cat. I come over and it's a real cat. He ate all the flowers in the house. Geraniums. How'd he get in? Or did they leave him there?
There's a note on the door: "Dear Kind Person, Please don't look for valuables here. We never had any. Use whatever you want but don't trash the place. We'll be back."
I saw signs on other houses in different colors: "Dear house, forgive us!" People said goodbye to their homes like they were people. Or they'd written: "we're leaving in the morning." Or: "We're leaving at night." And they'd put the date and even the time. There were notes written on school notebook paper: "Don't beat the cat. Otherwise the rats will eat everything." And then in a child's handwriting: "Don't kill our Zhulka. She's a good cat."
[Closes his eyes.] I've forgotten everything. I only remember that I went there, and after that I don't remember anything. I forgot all of it. I can't count money, my memory's not right. The doctors don't understand it. I go from hospital to hospital.
When I came home from The Zone, I took off all the clothes that I'd worn there and threw them down the trash chute. I gave my cap to my little son, he really wanted it. And he wore it all the time. Two years later they gave him a diagnosis: a tumor in his brain. [silent.] You can write the rest of this yourself. I don't want to talk anymore. [long silence.]
But that sticks in my head: you're walking up to the house, thinking that the house is empty, and you open the door, and there's this cat. That, and those kids' notes."

If I ever take this view for granted, no matter how cliche or common my images may sometimes be, I know it will be the right time to hang up my rooftopping sneakers. Luckily, I still enjoy ever second of getting high...including (sometimes unsuccessful) ascend to the top.

After months of stalling, here's one for Stoe. I told myself I wouldn't do anymore outlines for anyone outside of my crew but drawing other names is always a fun challenge.
Drawing is the only real way to improve so you toys should really try drawing. You won't suck as much, I promise you. I hope so anyway. And even if you are good your style won't become stale, old, tired, and boring.
Take the advice. Improve your life.

He Cares For Me
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [1 Peter 5:7]
It is a happy way of soothing sorrow when we can feel—“HE careth for me.” Christian! do not dishonour religion by always wearing a brow of care; come, cast your burden upon your Lord. You are staggering beneath a weight which your Father would not feel. What seems to you a crushing burden, would be to him but as the small dust of the balance. Nothing is so sweet as to “Lie passive in God’s hands, and know no will but his.” O child of suffering, be thou patient; God has not passed thee over in his providence. He who is the feeder of sparrows, will also furnish you with what you need. Sit not down in despair; hope on, hope ever. Take up the arms of faith against a sea of trouble, and your opposition shall yet end your distresses. There is One who careth for you. His eye is fixed on you, his heart beats with pity for your woe, and his hand omnipotent shall yet bring you the needed help. The darkest cloud shall scatter itself in showers of mercy. The blackest gloom shall give place to the morning. He, if thou art one of his family, will bind up thy wounds, and heal thy broken heart. Doubt not his grace because of thy tribulation, but believe that he loveth thee as much in seasons of trouble as in times of happiness. What a serene and quiet life might you lead if you would leave providing to the God of providence! With a little oil in the cruse, and a handful of meal in the barrel [read 1 King 17:12], Elijah outlived the famine, and you will do the same. If God cares for you, why need you care too? Can you trust him for your soul, and not for your body? He has never refused to bear your burdens, he has never fainted under their weight. Come, then, soul! have done with fretful care, and leave all thy concerns in the hand of a gracious God. Hallelujah, God bless

For many reasons i love this shot. The lighting and the shadows are one of them. Also the facial expression. Its not the usual pregnant shot where the model is smiling and happy. This is more like "are you talking to me and my baby".
This shot was taken when she was 25 weeks preggy last sunday. Only few more weeks and im a daddy :)
Have a great sunday my friends!

Strobist: Composite of 12 images. I used an AB1600 on full power and moved around the theatre lighting up different portions. They are almost all cross-lit in some fashion, especially the seats. The walls were slightly more direct and at less power. Assembled them in Photoshop.
These are for my Mum as it is Mothering Sunday here in the UK. These lovely spring flowers were growing in her garden last spring and I gave her a card today with this image on it.
So much of my art is sexually charged that it started to feel out of balance with who I am as a whole person. So, for five months this winter and spring, I knitted this 40-foot long scarf for my ex-boyfriend Curtis. As the following installation photo declares, I will always love this man, and I wanted to make something tangible to show it.
We have finally starting to thaw here in the north, which means two things - there is a lot of mud, and the Red River of the North is flooding. At this point we are at "moderate" flood stage, although by Wednesday we are predicted to be in "major". At this point the crest projection is high, but does not threaten our house. In the meantime, Koko is enjoying all the water!
yesterday, i posted a different angle of this raindrop, and Lisa (chiligirlll) detected and admired the pastels and pinks in the image, and since this angle displays a good measure more of what Lisa likes, i suspect this shot will please her all the more.

Babylon was renowned for its high, well-fortified walls and for the magnificence of its temples and palaces. Its famous Hanging Gardens, built by King Nebuchadnezzar II for his wife Amytas, were one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Amytas was a Medes and her home was in mountainous country, so the King reputedly had the Hanging Gardens built to allay her homesickness.
Nowadays, its ruins covers about 302 km lying on the east bank of Euphrates 90 km south of Baghdad and about 10 km north of Hilla. The most important of the standing monuments of Babylon today are the Summer and Winter Palaces of King Nebuchadnezzar II, the Ziggurat attached to it, the Street of Processions, the Lion of Babylon, and the famous Ishtar Gate.
In Akkadian times, around 2350 BC, Babylon was a small village, which in 5 or 6 centuries had grown in size and importance, mostly during the reign of the 3rd Dynasty, until it rose like a city meteor to deal the coup de grace to Sumerian authority in Mesopotamia under Amorite kings. Babylon itself became a major city-state, as the capital of the great Amorite soldier, the famous king, law-giver and social reformer King Hammurabi, with a code of common law, and a king with genuine concern for the well-being of his subjects - an unusual feature in those times.
I had the BESTEST Birthday "Day" with my MOM and Aly yesterday...
Ok, well Aly couldn't really hang much past the MAMMOTH sized CHOCOLATE, Chocolate Chip Muffin...but she made it to the Mani and Pedi's...and had to get out of dodge soon thereafter!
It was UBER fun! We shopped all day and mom hung out at EVERY photog place in town...We had Margaritas that we could have swam laps in first! It was so much fun! And then...she bought me a new camera...OMG...and not just a body...3 lenses too. I may have died and went to heaven...
Mom, I LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH...and not just for the camera. You are sooo good to me, my BESTIE! :)
Please...don't expect greatness for a few months though...this is a little tougher than the point and shoot.
But...this shot is SOOC, less a little crop...
It is so fun I can hardly stand it.
Ok...deep breath....
(easily excitable today)
Lots of chores today...but I will be back to marvel at all of your streams!
Happy Sunday~~
The replacement Loop Buses are 19648,19649,19650,19651,19652,19653,19655 and 19659 (SP60 DTF/K/N, DPO/U/V/Y and OU60 CVA) all in which carry Loop branding. This is 19651 and like most of the other Buses branded was new in 2010 to Stagecoach up in Scotland for the Tayway 73 (The Scottish registration gives it away) in a purple based branding. In 2015, they came all the way down to the East Sussex Coast to replace Enviro300s on the 1/1A and convert it to Doubles. They wore really basic "One" branding which was only temporary. However, in Summer 2017 nearly 2 years after being introduced on the 1/1A, they lost their One branding. 8 of the Enviro400s were rebranded with Pink fronts and Loop branding for the Loop which converted to Doubles late last month displacing its previous Enviro200s onto other town work. The other 4 have remained unbranded here is 19651 on an Loop 4/8/17.
