A fool on the unfinished buildings at Chateaudun, apparently using his fingers to help win a gurning competition.
A fool and his Fool's Gold are seldom parted.
I've been packing this rock around for 40+ years ...
so I guess you know what that makes me :)

BREVARD, NC - On the weekend of December 11-12, 2014, Brevard HS students sang, played, danced, and acted in collaboration with the Pisgah Forest Elementary School chorus to offer the annual Madrigal Dinners. The evening always features a sumptuous feast for the palate, as well as the eyes and ears. Attendees never go away unsatisfied, and this year's festival at First United Methodist Church was no exception.
Delicious dinner is served with the singing of the “Boar's Head” carol. The hall is lavished with costuming and songs from days long gone by. A hearty "Drink hail!" is proclaimed over the wassail bowl. Jesters, fools, and wenches compete for the attention of the gathering, as they long for the tables of the king, queen, and their court.
Theater students served at table, while soloists offered up true Italian madrigals alongside the now-classes “O Holy Night.” Performers inside danced ballet and pantomime, including some acrobatic displays by the court humorists. Swordplay is never too far from a display of courtly love, and one may hope the better man wins every time! Beggars placed outside the chamber also sought the attention of passersby, though sadly with little to show for their efforts but bruises from the guards posted as sentries and doorkeepers.
If you have never attended the Madrigal Dinners put on by Brevard High School, be sure to mark next November on your calendar. Seats are typically sold out well in advance of the actual event, because these are some of the hottest tickets in Transylvania County.

Another specimen of the Green Fool Grasshopper, this one more mottled with white than usual for this region. Chico Basin Ranch, Colorado, August 6.
Continuing on the theme, able to take the M5 and split between the northern part and southern part of the Rockies (Canadian and Colorado). This was the last roll until I had to send the camera away for a full CLA and meter repair, for which it was clearly due being in the wild for sometime. Lots of hiking but well worth it. Most of the time was overcast but did the best I could to capture with suboptimal light. I was inspired as usual with the flickeranians who do so well in the most trying of conditions - thanks for the continued inspiration!

FOOLS IN FASHION
Music & lyrics by Elton John & Bernie Taupin 1981
---------------------------------------------
He's so sophisticated
In a critic's eye
He needs a change of habit
But then so do I
He's all Zefferelli
In cool loose clothes
He needs to be rewired
He's plugged on overload
So crisp and new
Well it had to be
I guess he needs a change
From the likes of me
If he should lose some color
When he leaves the sun
I'm sure a little Braggi
Wouldn't hurt no one
'Cause when the fool's in fashion
He's attracting everyone
He'll be the head of your list
He'll be your dinner guest
If he's the center of attention
Looks like the fool's in fashion
You had your pound of flesh
You got the driver's seat
Well you can keep the car
But I'd like the meat
'Cause there must be plenty
Down in the cutting room
It's so tough to suffer
When you want the moon
Hopefully, this'll be the first of my "Fool Me" series. Probably just fooling myself... I have no follow through.
hi beauti-fool
on my last day in israel i decided to take a long walk along dizengoff and south tel aviv, jaffa and the old city. i only had my 5d with lensbaby f8.0 attached and besides portraits of strangers and things of special interest graffitis on my list of main subjects to find. i learnt before that graffiti art is popular in tel aviv and i knew one of the famous street artist of tel aviv is dede (imdede.com/). in order to find his work and others i strolled through the streets and found a good amount of very creative colorful art with subtile humour, which in a special way appear to be more or less part of the building and its context. and i found this which i already photographed last year.
Remember those fake nails-through-the-finger you could buy from joke shops? Here's a similar trick performed by a small Lego person.
To remove any doubt: digital editing was limited to crop and levels adjustment. No small Lego people were harmed during the production of this picture!
For Macro Mondays, April 1st theme "I Fooled You!"
i've become somewhat of a recluse these days. when friends do see me, they ask: "how are you?" but before i say a word, they quickly follow with "you look good, you look good!"
on the one hand, i know this is meant to cheer me up; it's a way for them to express care, offer a little bit of tlc by way of complimenting my appearance.
on the other hand:
... what a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away
what seems to be, is always better than nothing ...
i know they just don't want to know what's really going on, let alone believe i'm anything other than "lookin' good"!
don't get me wrong, i never intend to put up any sort of false front. my masks are flimsy, sometimes for whimsy, rarely for deception or protection. but if i wear them, all too often it's more for the sake of others, not my own.
i don't feel like i'm making sense; i'm confused; a genuine smile, and yet i was feeling so sad, angry, lost, frustrated, scared.
you know, i think i took these shots just because i had some free time, and i liked the way my hair looked. how feeble, how sorry is that?
