Only a fool, like fools before me
I always think with my heart
Only a fool
That same old story
Seems I was born for the part
It's a lesson that I've learned
And a page I should have turned
I shouldn't cry, but I do
Like an ordinary fool
When her ordinary dreams fall through
My new backyard in Arizona is bordered by the Sitgreaves National Forest. The NF has the largest stand of Ponderosa pines in the USA.
The Apache–Sitgreaves National Forests are two 2.76-million-acre United States National Forests which run along the Mogollon Rim and the White Mountains in east-central Arizona and into the U.S. state of New Mexico. Wikipedia
As always, thanks so much for taking a look.

I took this a while ago while shooting with Amabile. I actually forgot about it and while going through the file it sort of jumped out at me.
This was take at the Birks of Aberfeldy, a truly beautiful walk.

This was on the evening of April Fools Day. I thought this was a perfect moon for the biggest pranking day of the year...the way it looks almost full...but isn't..kind of fooling you. I guess you could call it a fool moon ;-)
I know, I know...sorry for the bad pun! Have a wonderful Tuesday, my friends!
The Spruce Grouse also known as the fool hen is native to coniferous forests throughout North America. I captured this male near the shores of the Lower Kananaskis Lake in Alberta.

Taken on the morning of April the 1st.After seeing Brad Eadie's recent upload from the Quiraing I thought as it is more on my doorstep, than his. I should make the effort to get a sunrise picture of that tree at the Quiraing. Because of the Pandemic Lockdown, I was alone on the hillside having the luxury to plant my tripod feet wherever I wanted.Brad's image has the advantage of clouds, this no only adds interest to the sky but diffuses and saturates the light falling on the land.

Lyrics translate:
Fool's Lullaby
You should be sleeping a long time ago, my dear sheep,
even the birds finished their song.
The wind has stopped blowing 'cause of us,
only the moth is staring from the outside.
I know her grudge, so try to hide somewhere,
she's wearing a white cloak again and the window is barred.
Chorus:
You should be sleeping a long time ago, my little sheep
and stay warm, you can keep me warm,
however they'll come to inquire,
tomorrow they'll come to inquire me again,
if you are fading away from my imagination.
You should be sleeping a long time ago, my dear sheep,
the dark midnight is here.
Tomorrow they'll scold us-fools,
'cause you like to eat the breakfast with me.
Why should I lie to them, that I'm here alone,
while I love You, while You are here with me.

I know it's April Fools Day but this is a real photo of a real sign in a real store window in Manhattan's Meat Packing District, NYC, photographed with my Olympus E-M1.
This photo has been in Explore on April 1, 2023. Highest position = #195. This is my 193rd photo in Explore.

Well, spring has been delayed a bit again it seems... mother nature deciding an April fools joke more fitting. Well, actually she delivered this yesterday, but sounds as if more tonight and tomorrow too...
oh well :)
I did get a new song up at soundcloud if you are interested... check it out :)
Another image of the Mersey Gateway Bridge from my recent wanderings around Spike Island in Widnes. Apparently the Stone Roses played an historic gig here over 30 years ago following the release of Fool's Gold, with an audience of over 27,000 people.
Can't believe that I'm the fool again
I thought this love would never end,
How was I to know?
You never told me
Can't believe that I'm the fool again,
And I who thought you were my friend
How was I to know !
Called the man a fool, striped him of his pride
Everyone was laughing up until the day he died
And though the wound went deep
Still he's calling us out of our sleep
My friends, we're not alone
He waits in silence to lead us all home

Pier diving. I left my camera behind, when some locals were diving off the pier in some fantastic light. Luckily, like most these days I had my mobile phone at hand.
The Northern Belle climbs towards Copy Pit with a York Appleby on a bright April Fool's morning. I gather this was to be steam hauled over the S&C later - but wasnt - April Fool for some.
Don’t let the nice weather #Fool you…
It is not exactly a summer day at the beach yet…
Water temperature is around 39F, winds are blowing making the air temp feel cool, and the lake is choppy with waves…
But it is a good day for a walk…
It seems the gulls think so too… ;-)

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
