The 'Floating bridge' in the West India Quay, Canary Wharf, London was designed by Future Systems and constructed in 1994- 96 .

When the Allies landed in Normandy in WWII, they assembled a floating 'Mulberry' harbour to get equipment ashore rapidly. This was one of the floating bridge units over which vehicles were driven.

The floating bridge connects the two sides of Willemstad, Curacao. The bridge floats on pontoons and "opens" for boat traffic. Here's a sequence of photos showing the bridge opening for a boat to pass.
