Walking down the steep park grassland of East Portal Viewpoint, above the tunnel that makes up the western end of the I-90 Lacey V. Murrow Memorial floating bridge.
We wound up deciding to walk out onto the pedestrian sidewalk of the bridge, which was open. As of 2019, they were no longer closing down the bridge for the Blue Angels shows.
The bridge is made up of air filled plastic boxes that are loosely connected. So as the estuary fills with water from the incoming tide, the bridge is able to float. Chains at both ends of the bridge help with stability and securing it in the one position on the beach.

This is the floating bridge that moves as naval ships enter PSNS. (The floating part is on the right).
