Playing around with Photoshop. The kids were curious about what I was doing with camera and tripod, and why was I taking pictures of an empty chair?
One really nice thing about shooting weddings is they give some great instances for abstract artistic work.
There are uncountable float festivals in Japan. This one took place just in my town, Johto-Ku in Osaka.
It's just local and small-scale but vibrant and joyful.

Inexpensive Carley floats were made in the thousands in World War II. These two are movie props made for the film Pearl Harbor. At the USS Lexington (CV-16).
The USS Lexington (CV-16) is one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. Launched and commissioned in 1943, she was designated as an aviator training carrier in 1962, first as CVT-16 and later as AVT-16. She was retired in 1991 and brought to Corpus Christi, Texas, to serve as a floating museum. Her surviving sister ships USS Yorktown (CV-10), USS Intrepid (CV-11) and USS Hornet (CV-12) carry lower pennant numbers, but USS Lexington was laid down and commissioned earlier, making her the oldest remaining fleet carrier in the world. I visited this ship on April 20, 2021.

Well underneath the pier at 17th street and 12th Ave. a floater was confirmed. There was little to no tide running either way on the Hudson River.
It would have been difficult for this body to have moved from open plain sight to under the pier in a matter of minutes..especially in that location. There was absolutely no movement of water,
Unless you were really looking for this body it would have been difficult to find. The body was tucked away well underneath the pier.
