Today when I went out the door I was determined to get a shot of a butterfly in flight. I didn't have to come back inside empty handed. I had to crop this one much more than I would like but, she's still flying. I like this shot better ;-)
It is hard life in Sundarbans...for collection of honey or fishing, the people need to take all risk to sail through narrow channels infested with crocodiles and walk through dense mangrove forest having Royal Bengal Tigers....yet, life floats on the turbulence of river and between perils on the banks....taken in deeper zone of Sundarbans, West Bengal, India

Complete reprocessing. I've never been completely satisfied with how this one turned out.
I've tried many times now to maximize what I can from this, but I just didn't know what I was doing all that well when I shot it to begin with, so there's a lot to compensate from. High ISO, bad stability, incorrect aperture... I really wish I'd taken it knowing what I know now about photography!
Good news is, I always save my master RAW files. And although I can't go back and re-shoot this picture, I CAN go back and edit it again, with new techniques and perspectives. This one uses a mix of single-exposure HDR and native RAW, processed in Photoshop and Photomatix.

Floater II - This beautiful Barn Owl popped out of a dense willow stand and floated by me full frame, allowing for some cool shots. The SEOW's seemed to start their hunt first, followed by the Barn Owls.
I really had to push the ISO and reduce my shutter speed here, but the electronic shutter really helped me with the spray and pray methodology and I came away with some sharp frames.

i would walk out in the mornings, often with feet just bare.. the grass caressing the souls so good ... and i would just get lost... i mean so, very, lost... please get lost with me and happy weekend :-)
Ps. this garden has now been bulldozed - it was our previous home and a sweet fairy's paradise. situated in a greenbelt valley with springs deep under the ground.

I spent last weekend at our summer cottage and it was quite summery :) And now we have an "extended weekend" because today is May Day and tomorrow is also off-school ♥ The weather won't be that nice but at least I'll have some time to edit and post pictures. I'll try to become more active here because I uploaded like 4 photos last month and that just isn't enough for me. I kinda regret the fact I didn't participate ADAW this year, but oh well...
