3 back seat passengers drowned after Cessna 206 door flaw slowed their exit. The pilot and one passenger survived the relatively soft crash. With the landing flaps down it blocks the opening of the second row seats door. Exit is only available by crawling back to rear cargo door, unlocking bottom pin and kicking the door open. (Not something a senior citizen or young child can do.)

The pilot and a surviving female passenger were able to get out through the window of the front left-side door.

The TSB said the pilot dove back into the water to help the remaining passengers, but was unable to open the doors from outside the aircraft because they were locked from the inside.

The TSB said the passengers were found with their seatbelts undone, although it couldn't say what efforts they had made to get out of the sinking aircraft.

The report said the impact forces were "well within the range of human survivability" and none of the occupants received immobilizing injuries.

The pilot and woman were rescued by a nearby boater within 15 to 20 minutes.

Little Doctor Lake, about 100 kilometres west of Fort Simpson, is accessible only by float plane in the summer and draws visitors from around the world looking for a wilderness experience.

TSB director of air investigations Natacha Van Themsche sent a letter to Transport Canada, saying she wanted to bring attention to a "significant safety issue" involving Cessna 206 series aircraft that are fitted with double cargo doors.

The TSB found one of the plane's two adjoining exit doors was blocked by the aircraft's extended wing flaps, which made opening the rear door more complicated.

The board says regulators in both Canada and the U.S. have known about the problem with the Cessna 206 since 1998, but no solution has been found and the plane continues to be licensed for up to five passengers.

The TSB says eight people have died since 1989 in accidents in which the wing flaps blocked the door.

"As shown in this occurrence, without functional exits, the time required to exit the aircraft may increase, which in turn increases the risk of death in time-critical situations, such as when the aircraft is submerged or there is a post-impact fire," the TSB letter to Transport Canada said.

(The Cessna Company has issued a memo for a retro fit to fix this problem, but no US or CA agency is making the repair mandatory.)

I loved her from the first time I've seen her promotional photo, and finally she is arrived from UK :)

She is just so cute, sweet, adorable, lovely >_<

She is - for now - my absolute favorite zelf. Love the pink-blue combination too!

The Soroptimist float, which won general 2nd prize. The Soroptimist Movement began in the 1920s, in connection to Rotarianism. It continues today as an international organization supporting women in their professional lives.

The theme of this year's pride march was 'Say Something', with 15 of the 130 floats addressing the issue of same-sex civil unionship. New South Wales Labor Minister Verity Firth said: "We must never forget that the first Mardi Gras in 1978 was about the struggle for equality and this aspect remains absolutely a part of the parade today."

Organisers set up speech bubbles along the parade route and called on spectators to speak out against inequality.

The parade was led by eight people who organisers say have made an impact in the lives of people identifying as GLBTQ. They included openly gay actress Lily Tomlin, gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and two Melbourne teens who protested against the ban on gay couples at a school formal.

The Boat Float is a trapezoidal enclosure for mooring small

boats. It is surrounded by reclaimed land on the north, west

and south sides and the South Embankment of c1889 forms the

east side, and here the road bridges a channel connecting the

float to the River Dart. A flight of steps lead down to the

water on the west side and there is a ramp down the east side.

Walls are made of roughly-cut blocks laid to courses.

First stage to the processing. All cherries are dumped into these tanks which are separated to ensure the varietal/farm traceability to separate the "floaters" from the "sinkers". Overripe coffee cherries, undeveloped coffee cherries, sticks and leaves float in water. Ripe coffee beans and green coffee cherries are dense and sink.

Standing in front of the tanks are our fellow hostel mates who have taken on our crazy coffee adventures to join us for this tour of the cooperativa.

Weir Skimmer Package

February 21, 2023

Belle Chase, LA

Description: A dismantled weir skimmer is stored on a deployment pallet in the early morning. The three stacked yellow objects on the left are floats which keep the skimmer leveled on the surface of the water. The yellow device to the right of the picture is the weir skimmer body. When needed, the deployment pallet is loaded onto a response vessel and a spill response operating team (SROT) will assemble the device. Once deployed, an operator will adjust the skimmer on the surface of the water so that it can remove the thin layer of spilled oil with and as little water as possible to preserve storage space. BSEE Preparedness Analysts from the Oil Spill Preparedness Division (OSPD) regularly inspect these types of equipment and observe industry training and exercise activities to ensure compliance with regulations and to monitor the overall vigor of the oil spill preparedness and response community.
