maochao's guide {read description for more info} by ___rei

28 10

ahh, first of all - i'm not leaving flickr and i won't be leaving flickr unless the recent changes completely destroy and drive away the majority of communities and friends/contacts i follow on here (which only time will tell if that happens, but)...

unfortunately i've already seen many of my favorite contacts leave this site (temporarily or permanently...?) to try out alternative websites and some people have also asked me about what sites they can use instead of flickr as well.

i decided to create some new accounts on different image hosting communities & social media to try their services out and figure out which ones i like (and which ones i don't). i also will be updating my mostly unused accounts on sites such as deviantart a little more for now.

this is just a simple guide and link portal to where you can find me on different sites. i haven't had enough time to make permanent decisions about which ones i want to use as mirrors for my flickr in the long term yet.

as i don't have a lot of experience with all of these sites it is an experiment - some of them may be worse than flickr!

if you want to find links to my specific profiles just go here >>flavors of leitan<<

i hope this is helpful to anyone who's interested! flickr will still be where all my pictures are uploaded for now but that may or may not change depending on what happens to the flickr community as a result of the many changes implemented!

PS - if you have a suggestion for another website i should try or a comment about an existing one, please let me know~ thanks!

A moment of pure happiness captured on a quiet street. This young footballer holds his worn ball with pride, his smile a testament to the resilience and hope found in the simplest moments. A reminder that true joy transcends circumstance.

Ein einfaches Wort, das alles sagt.

Für jedes „Like“, jeden Kommentar, jedes stille Betrachten.

Mehr als 700.000 Aufrufe – und jeder einzelne bedeutet mir etwas.

Danke für euer Licht, eure Zeit und euer Vertrauen.

A simple word that says it all.

For every like, every comment, every quiet moment spent looking.

More than 700,000 views – and each one means something to me.

Thank you for your light, your time, and your trust.

I've been a member of the Flickr community since 2006. I try to let you know how much I appreciate your presence whether you have stopped in to look, or left a comment, or clicked a favourite. I may not be here every day and sometimes barely once a week or less, but I always enjoy seeing YOUR images or reading your own photo captions. It's a real community here and, even though I took a hiatus a while back, I couldn't stay away. As we've all had such a confined and unthinkable year I want to thank you. I want you to know how much I appreciate you and how you make Flickr feel like home.

May 2021 shower upon you good health, a kind heart, and an abundance of creativity.

And one more wee thing. I hope you will begin to get some of your favourite photos printed this year. It's the greatest feeling.

“A photograph doesn’t feel real until it is a tangible physical object I can hold in my hand.” said Stephen Johnson
