The last of my Craigendoran pier series from November last year. Multiple long exposures at sunset with a clear sky produced great results. This final image the clouds starting to turn red. I hope everyone has a good week. I appreciate any favourites and comments.
Was at a loose end last Sunday, I decided to drive over to the east coast to Arbroath. After a walk around the harbour late afternoon I settled on the end of the pier, with an aim to take a long exposure of this breaker light. Have a great weekend.
Long exposure sunset taken a few days ago with my new firecrest 13 stop filter. I appreciate any favs and comments. Have a great weekend.
Captured at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, this frame freezes a bee mid-flight, moments before touching a delicate white bloom. Soft light, shallow depth, and gentle motion convey nature’s quiet precision—pollination as poetry—where patience, balance, and timing briefly align in a single, fleeting instant within the garden’s living seasonal rhythm.
🇬🇧 EN — A lone fisherman drifts across the calm Ligurian sea, his orange jacket the only spark in an otherwise hushed composition. The island watches in silence. Time slows. In this suspended hour, labour and solitude merge into a quiet ritual.

The sheer drama of sunset over the mountains visible from Sarfaranga Cold Desert in Skardu. The light only catches the very highest peaks, painting them gold.

🇬🇧 Between two columns, a man sits alone, selling his miniature wares in the soft shadows of the arcade. No crowd, no rush—just a posture of waiting, dignified and still. In the geometry of stone and silence, his presence becomes monumental.

We found each other in ugly places. The kind that strip you down and show you who’s real. Somewhere in all that darkness, I found my very much loved friend Purr.
We got close fast, close like we’d already done the hard parts somewhere else. It’s strange knowing our lives missed each other for so long. Maybe if they hadn’t, this wouldn’t be what it is. Some bonds need the damage first.
The truth always comes out. When it does, the light doesn’t soften anything, it clarifies it. Purr wasn’t a coincidence. She belongs here, in my life, in my family, like it was always written that way.
She’s solid, kind and feircly outspoken. And still the easiest person to bully with love.

🇬🇧 A visual maze of architecture, reflections, and chromatic rhythms. In the heart of the Italian coast, mirrors dissect the city into fragments, revealing both symmetry and distortion. Between geometry and urban poetry, a game of perception begins.

..........and will have to be until further notice. All around the world we are being told to social distance which means no travel for the foreseeable future. We were planning a tour of southern Germany again. We went there 7 years ago and had one of our most memorable holidays meeting a Flickr friend in Germany and one in Holland. We have visited Italy several times through meeting someone through Flickr. And I also visited a Flickr friend in Paris. I have had two Flickr friends from the US visit the New Forest, one from the north of England and another from Dublin but now we must be content with staying at home and only seeing far flung places on-line. Think how lucky we are that we have this wonderful community

Nice drive over to the east coast of Scotland today to visit Belhaven bridge. I mistimed my set up as high tide had passed not long before my arrival, meaning I missed the chance to isolate the bridge with water. Still happy with the shot and as they say a sunrise lifts any photo!
The crabs can be found from Massachusetts, U.S. to areas in Argentina. They are common in shallow water on sand in ocean beaches, but can be found in depths up to two hundred feet (60m) deep. The Speckled swimming crab eats primarily detritus, but have also been recorded eating fish, mollusks, and other crustaceans. Sea turtles are the primary predator to Arenaeus cribrarius.

🇬🇧 They once made someone smile. Now they gather dust, behind a foggy glass and cobwebs.

🇬🇧 In this Tuscan alley, silence walks ahead of the sun.
The slow step of an anonymous figure slips between warm walls and flowered names. “Il Girasole” — the sunflower — offers a subtle nod to light, just a word at eye level.
A simple, nearly forgotten scene, yet precious — like a sunbeam in shadow.
