If you are sitting there wondering why I've chosen a plate of grapes for todays image ....... in Spain the tradition on New Years Eve is with each of the 12 chimes of the clock at midnight you should eat a grape - for every one you manage to chew and swallow in time it means a month of luck in the forthcoming year ...... I always choke .... no wonder I'm so unlucky - hahaha !!! Here's to another year all together on Flickr - hugs n cuddles to you all ;)

My model did all the hard work, I just waited for the moment (and dodged various missiles of Bolognese and chocolate cake).
I thought i would try out this social experiment seeming as everybody is asking and telling anything to people here on flickr. I think i am actually quite good at offering advice and solving problems for people on the Internet and in real life. Obviously this form which can be found on FormSpring is completely anonymous. It is basically just a web online form where i get random submissions off strangers and it is also a great way to collect data/information.
*Update - The link has now gone, so i have now closed the FormSpring web online form and thank you all for the submissions in which i answered them all. Please read right at the end of the long comment where i have written a short paragraph explaining what i have learnt from this social experiment.
I am now going to be taking out a bit of time for myself and stop uploading for a while. I have loads of updating to do on my whole photostream so i am going to try to focus on that. I also think that the fact my creative concepts/ideas have just gone has not helped. So i am now taking the time to be a better contact/friend and hope to gain inspiration from all you lot on flickr. I recently also came across the amazing work of Simon Pais Thomas whose fashion photography work is just incredible. It looks like i will have to do one of those contact/friend showcase things very soon again but i don't want my photostream being full of them. Looking at the work of Simon Pais Thomas has made me realise that it's about treating self portraits like a journal really. I want to find the time to be more expressive within myself and find other ways to communicate to the audience about the way i am really feeling inside me. There are many more photographers who inspire me on flickr, some know who they are and the list contains too many to mention.
So i will be back in time with hopefully some very new fresh concepts/ideas which are exciting, original, and perceptive. Hopefully even extending my skills to build up a beauty portfolio which is totally new to me. Also having the time to make my fashion work even stronger in time as well as working on all other areas of moving image and photography. I need to stop making comparisons to the work of others and just focus on my own art/moving image/photography. I was given this sound advice by buttonheart (Chloe) and she is totally right. Also another thing i have learnt about myself is that i need to plan more in advance when i get a concept/idea as i always seem to get excited and rush everything. I need to realise that i can't expect things to fall into place for me straight away and i really need to stop being so negative about my photographs. I need more confidence and self belief so that is my main reason for needing time to myself. Lastly i will stay in touch with only my flickr contacts/friends photographs and i hope you all enjoy the rest of the holiday summer season.

Yesterday we had second Iranian flickies meeting in Isfahan. It was a very nice day for me to see most of my flickies friends and have a good time with them. We visited many places in Isfahan like Joobareh district, Mullah Jacob synagogue and his tomb near there, Morshed Kamal sporting arena, Jaame mosque, Hasht Behesht Palace, Aligholi agha public bath, Chehel Sotoon Palace and finally Naghsh-e-Jahan Square.
I would like to thank all the people involved in organizing this unforgettable trip. Especially Alireza Najafian, Saleh Rozati, Fariborz Alagheband and everybody else that I have not mentioned by name.
Just after the rain in Ljubljana’s city, streets still shining, clouds hanging low, and people wandering through. A simple everyday scene, but with that fresh, travel vibe only rainy days can bring.
La basilique Saint-Nazaire est une église d'origine romane datant du XIe siècle. C'est tout d'abord une simple église bénie et consacrée cathédrale par le pape Urbain II en 1096[89],[90]. Sur son emplacement se trouvait une cathédrale carolingienne dont il ne reste aucune trace aujourd'hui. La crypte date aussi de l'époque de la construction de la nouvelle cathédrale par la famille Trencavel malgré son état dégradé qui fait penser le contraire. Les vitraux originaux de la basilique se trouvent dans la Saint-Chapelle à Paris.
La basilique Saint Nazaire au coeur de la CitéLa cathédrale est construite en grès à l'extérieur. Elle est agrandie entre 1269 et 1330 dans le style gothique imposé par les Français devenus maîtres de la région, avec un transept et un chœur très élancés, un décor de sculptures et un ensemble de vitraux qui comptent parmi les plus beaux du sud de la France. Un prélat bâtisseur, Pierre de Rochefort, est à l'origine financière d'une grande partie des décors et de l'achèvement des voûtes. Ses armoiries sont visibles dans le chœur, l'abside et le bras sud du transept, tandis que la chapelle du collatéral nord contient le monument commémoratif de la mort du contributeur. Un autre personnage, Pierre Rodier archevêque de Carcassonne, possède son blason dans la chapelle du collatéral sud.
Les rénovations d'Eugène Viollet-le-Duc ont largement transformé son extérieur, mais l'intérieur est le plus remarquable. On observe alors les deux styles, gothique et roman, sur les vitraux, les sculptures et tous les décors de l'église. De nombreux vitraux du XIIIe siècle et du XIVe siècle sont présents sur les façades. Elles représentent des scènes de la vie du christ et de ses apôtres. En 1801, l'église est déchue de son rang de cathédrale de Carcassonne au profit de l'église Saint-Michel, située dans la bastide. Ce transfert se déroule dans un contexte de changements avec l'abandon de la cité et l'expansion de la ville basse. Elle devient basilique en 1898, par un bref du pape Léon XIII.
Une communauté de chanoines vivait à proximité de la cathédrale avec une salle capitulaire et le dortoir à l'est, le réfectoire et les cuisines au sud et les caves et écuries à l'ouest. Mais l'ensemble des bâtiments est démoli en 1792.

Carcassonne (Carcassona [karka'suno] en occitan) est une commune française située dans le département de l'Aude et la région Languedoc-Roussillon. La ville est la préfecture de l'Aude, elle est connue pour la Cité de Carcassonne, un ensemble architectural médiéval restauré par Viollet-le-Duc au XIXe siècle et inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis 1997.
Carcassonne est située sur les bords du fleuve de l'Aude. La commune est traditionnellement divisée en deux, la ville basse qui occupe les berges du fleuve à l'ouest et la ville haute (ou cité) qui occupe la colline surplombant l'Aude. La cité est construite sur un petit plateau constitué par le creusement de l'Aude à environ 150 mètres d'altitude au-dessus de la ville basse[12]. La ville basse se situe au niveau de l'Aude dont l'altitude est de 100 m.
L'Aude arrive à Carcassonne après son périple montagneux dans les gorges de la haute vallée de l'Aude et devient alors un fleuve plus tranquille. Elle passe au Païcherou, longe le cimetière Saint-Michel puis se sépare en deux bras formant une île appelée « l'île du Roy ». Quatre ponts permettent de la franchir : le pont Garigliano, le pont-Vieux accessible qu'aux piétons, le pont Neuf et le pont de l'Avenir. Le canal du Midi passe également au nord de la ville entre la gare et le jardin André-Chénier jouxtant la bastide Saint-Louis.
La ville se situe dans un couloir entre la montagne Noire au nord et la chaîne des Pyrénées au sud. La plaine est constituée de dépôts récents amenés par l'Aude et provenant des Pyrénées. Il s'agit de la molasse de Carcassonne, qui se caractérise par une alternance de grès, de conglomérats et de marnes gréseuses fluviatiles datant de l'éocène.

La ville de Carcassonne entretient la légende selon laquelle le nom de la ville de Carcassonne daterait du début du IXe siècle. Au moment des faits, la ville aurait été Sarrasine. Charlemagne aurait fait le siège, mais la maitresse des lieux, Dame Carcas, aurait fort résisté. Les deux armées seraient devenues affamées. Tandis qu'il n'aurait resté qu'une mesure de blé et un petit cochon dans la cité, la Dame Carcas aurait eu l'idée de démoraliser ses adversaires.
Le porcelet aurait été engraissé, puis projeté par dessus les remparts. Pensant que la ville avait encore beaucoup de nourriture, Charlemagne aurait fait lever le siège. À ce moment, Dame Carcas aurait fait sonner les trompettes et, Charlemagne revenant sur ses pas, la Dame Carcas lui aurait proposé la paix. D'où l'expression Carcas sonne.
Historiquement, la reconquête des terres du Languedoc par Charlemagne remonte à Pépin le Bref, au milieu du VIII° siècle.
La Cité de Carcassonne, sur la rive droite de l'Aude a été classée au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1997. C'est le haut lieu touristique de la ville avec plus de deux millions de visiteurs chaque année dont 300 000 visites du château comtal et des remparts[88]. C'est le deuxième site touristique le plus visité de France après le Mont-Saint-Michel.
C'est un ensemble médiéval unique en Europe de par sa taille et son état de conservation. La cité est ceinturée de deux rangées de remparts et possède un château, le château comtal, et la basilique Saint-Nazaire.

Le centre Kagyu-Dzong est un centre de l'école kagyupa du bouddhisme tibétain. Ce centre est lié au 17e Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje. Il est hebergé dans un temple de style tibétain et bouthanais qui fut inauguré le 27 janvier 1985, construit à proximité de la Pagode du bois de Vincennes, siège de l'Institut international bouddhique fondé par Jean Sainteny.
En 1980, Kalou Rinpoché conféra à la Pagode du bois de Vincennes la grande Initiation de Kalachakra. Il rencontra à cette occasion Jean Ober, secrétaire général de l'Institut international bouddhique, et ensemble, ils élaborèrent un projet de construction d'un temple tibétain. Les plans établis par l'architecte Jean-Luc Massot sur les directives de Kalou Rinpoché furent approuvés par la Mairie de Paris. La première pierre fut posée le 20 mars 1983. Les travaux réalisés par des entreprises privées et de nombreux bénévoles prirent deux ans.
Le centre de Kagyu-Dzong est lié au centre Vajradhara-Ling en Normandie et Kalou Rinpoché en confia la responsabilité à son disciple, Lama Gyourmé.
Depuis 2006, chaque année, un évènement artistique a lieu à Kagyu-Dzong sur le thème « Paix et Lumière » pour soutenir le projet de construction du Temple pour la Paix à proximité de Vajradhara-Ling.
