These are TERNS - Deadly Fishers - extremely fast, was flying in a flock, head always down towards the water to spot a prey, and continuously by rotation one after another, one will suddenly come out of the flock (which was positioning itself in the lowest level) and was suddenly diving into the water and will be completely inside the water for two to three seconds and will come out after catching a fish - deadly accurate. Although I have seen missing one or two times, but very rare. Snapping their photo is a challenge because they move so fast and after a great difficulty , I could snap correctly few photos of them. Mesmerisingly fast moving birds and their size is only slightly lesser than a city Mynah !
@ Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary - Andhra Pradesh, India.
Pulicat lake bird sanctuary is a saline backwater lake lying along the T.N.-A.P coast; part extending to Chengalpattu district of T.N. It has an area of 481 sq.KM and it is the 2nd largest brackish water lagoon in India after Chilka lake in Orissa. The area on the TN side is 153.67 sq.km.
The Pulicat sanctuary is drained by Arni river while the Buckingham canal brings in the city’s drainage water. At the southern end is an opening on to Bay of Bengal through a shallow mouth of 200 m in width. The rest of the lake is closed by a sand bar running parallel to the Bay of Bengal in the form of the Sriharikota island.
The sanctuary has an area of 321 Sq. KM with 108 sq.KM of National Park area.
It lies within 11o 30’ N to 11o 42’ N and 76o 30’ E to 76o 45’ E.
Rainfall ranges from 800 - 2000mm. Temperature varies from 14o C to 33o C.
Altitude ranges from 100’ MSL to 1200’ MSL.
The wetlands eco system are considered as among the richest areas of bio diversity. Pulicat, by virtue of the mixing of fresh water with sea water is found to be an ideal habitat for diverse life-forms. 160 species of fish, 25 species of polychaete worms, 12 species of prawn, 19 species of mollusk and 100 speceis of birds are well documented apart from a number of other aquatic flora and fauna.
Among the most spectacular is the flamingo-a tall gaunt, white-coloured bird with a touch of pink on the wings, pink beak and legs, seen feeding in shallow water. The squat, large-billed grey pelican with gular pouch and a number of ducks are commonly seen. Flocks of sea gulls and terns circling in the sky or bobbing up and down on the water are an added attraction at pulicat. Besides, there are a number of waterside birds and waders such as curlews, stilts, plovers, sand pipers, lapwings, redshank. Egrets, herons, kites etc. are some other birds found here. The lake is also home to crabs, clams, mussels, oysters, snails, fish worms, insects, spiders, sponges, anemone, prawns, plankton and so on including rare endemic species like gilled leech, an unidentified bloodred fish, etc., Rapid siltation has caused loss of bio diversity. It is seen that mangrove opllen is found on Sriharikota Island indicating their existence some years back. Loss of mangroves may be one of the resons hastening siltation, reducing biodiversity and hence depriving fisherfolk of their livelihood.

The name Orlando Haus comes from a famous renaissance composer, Orlando die Lasso (about 1532 – 1594). He was born in Belgium, went in 1553 and as a bandmaster to Rome. From 1564 he was bandmaster of Munich’s royal band (Hofkapelle). At that time the band was part of Munich’s royal Residence only a view steps away from the Orlando Haus.
The foundation of Orlando Haus goes back to the 16th century when Orlando di Lasso lived there. At the end of the 19th century Max Littmann reconstructed a neo renaissance building based on the historic model, very similar to the “Hofbräuhaus” that is also on Platzl.

I was surprised to see redevelopment of some severe storm cells just off to west of Kearney Nebraska.
Warnings were issued shortly before 8:30pm. I had to work in 2 hours so I didn't get many shots in before I had to leave.
Tons of cloud to cloud lightning, with an impressive late season shelf cloud just to the northwest of my location.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

しかし、様々な鑑定の結果、陽の光を浴びました。
誰にも気づかれない作品。肩書がなくとも静かに語りかける作品。

What can I say I was arrested by the F.B.I (Flickr Bureau of Investigation) and thrown in prison for a week.
I was charged with
● Impersonating a proper photographer
● Posting pictures of myself on flickr, which caused distress to others
● Being an obstruction to low flying aircraft due to my height
The FBI have been watching me for a while apparently and using 600mm lenses to stay hidden.
They grew suspicious after looking at my pictures 199,000 times but wondered how I reached over 200,000 views.
Anyway I was interrogated at Flickr headquarters in San Francisco, they wanted to know how I got into Explore without using pictures of nails and nail varnishes, teddies, dolls with button eyes, dolls with large breasts, pictures with bokeh and oof shots.
I didn't crack even after 20 hours of lamps in my face down in the basement so they transferred me to flickr Penitentiary.
They chloroformed me for the 10 minute journey across the road, I woke up a few hours later in my cell but damn that chloroform stuff really makes your bottom hurt.
Flickr Penitentiary was one hell of a scary experience especially as I shared a cell with Mr Big.
Mr Big was great for getting stuff, and I mean the hard stuff, I'm talking about class 10 cards none of this class 4 crap, the read and write times of the class 10 stuff sent me dizzy and on a high helping me to get through this horrible experience.
The Penitentiary was separated into groups I was in the Nikon group called the Nikon Bad boys then there was the Canon group called the 'L' class maulers and it was these two groups who ruled the place.
Another group was formed of smaller groups to make them stronger, they contained Sony, Pentax and Fuji and thanks to their combined numbers they where 10 strong.
Then you had the bridge camera and compact camera group, everyone just felt sorry for them, at night when it was really quiet you could hear them crying themselves to sleep, only if they spent a bit more on a proper camera.
The last group was the film users who were lifers, they had been in there forever.
The film users walked around like mindless zombies talking to pigeons and the walls telling them how digital is the work of the Devil and how you can't beat breathing in the fumes of film chemicals. They also ran the library bringing photography books to our cells on a trolley.
You are probably wondering how I got the scar on my face well I was mopping the corridor along the cells when three Canon users came round the corner and grabbed me.
Two held me down whilst the other one threatened me, he must have been a 5D MKIII owner as he looked like the boss and was very confident, the two apes looked like 550d owners to me, just following orders as they lacked the proper equipment.
Boss man told me to stay out of Explore if I knew what was good for me then slashed my face with what looked like a sharpened class 10 sdhc card attached to a toothbrush.
I was in the infirmary for the rest of the day with a nasty scar for my troubles.
Not long after I was released on bail thanks to my lawer a very famous landscape photographer who really knows what he's talking about, very knowledgeable and methodical.
Thanks to my lawer I also got the the set up used by the FBI for my police mugshot.

I was really impressed with their equipment and how they used it.
The elemental lamp was to the side of the camera and pointing down at my face and set at 1/2 power, the honeycomb cover helped to channel the light at my face.
1x flashgun was placed behind me pointing at the wall and set at 1/4 power.
1X flashgun was placed in the same position as the main lamp but lower down and set at 1/8 power to add light to the mugshot board.
All fired off camera using Yongnuo RF-602 trigger + receivers.

I hate this experience that was forced on me. This has everything to do with why I don't see more than half of my contacts anymore. It is slow and it sucks the joy out of the flickr experience. This beta is even worse.
And yet I find myself hating it more everyday. Fuck your 'Photo Experience'. Stop trying to accommodate the instagram crowd...

First 'Woolly' of the year.
Arctiidae-Tiger Moths. This is a large and diverse family of moths with around 11,000 worldwide species This family includes the groups commonly known as tiger moths (or tigers), which usually have bright colors, footmen, lichen moths and wasp moths. Many species have 'hairy' caterpillars which are popularly known as woolly bears or woolly worms.
A characteristic of the family is a tympanum on the thorax which when vibrated to produce ultrasonic sounds. These sounds are used in mating and for defense against predator. Many species retain distasteful or poisonous chemicals acquired from their host plants. Larvae typically acquire these chemicals which may be passed onto molting adults. In some species adults can also acquire these toxicants by regurgitating on decomposing plants containing the compounds, and sucking up the fluid. Female adults can transfer the toxicants to their eggs, or the males sometimes transfer them to females to help with defense of the eggs. Some larvae possess urticating or stinging hairs. The insects advertise these defenses with bright coloration, unusual postures, odors, or, in adults, ultrasonic vibrations. Some species mimic other moths that are poisonous, or wasps that sting. The ultrasound signals help nocturnal predators to learn to avoid the moths. Many of the caterpillars and adults are active during the daytime. If disturbed, woolly bear caterpillars will roll into a tight spiral
Local folklore of the American Northeast holds that that "wooly bears" have the ability to predict the weather, similar to that of the Groundhog. The forthcoming severity of a winter may be indicated by the amount of black on the Isabella tiger moth's caterpillar, the most familiar woolly bear in North America; more brown than black means a fair winter, but more black than brown means a harsh winter. However, the relative width of the black band varies among instars, not according to weather. The mythical qualities attributed to woolly bears in the American Northeast have led to such things as the Woolly Bear Festival.
