One of my favourite parts of London (l lived nearby in Bloomsbury for a few years). The street has a slight feeling of Madrid, particularly in the summer. Lots of restaurants and cafes with outside seating. The church on the left is somehow reminiscent of the ending scenes of Hitchcock's Vertigo.

I might be leaving...I mean my photos have been getting less likes which means they're either not good or no one cares about them.

If you don't want me to leave, please tell me I don't want to. I promise to make them better and upload more!

When astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti received her first assignment — to spend a record 200 days aboard the International Space Station — she knew she wanted to document the opportunity of a lifetime through photography. The resulting images are breathtaking.

Photography is relatively new to me. I used it as a tool to document the things I saw during my time as an architecture student. I got more interested in 2005 as I was so overwhelmed by the view of Shanghai from my room at the Grand Hyatt, similar to this.

I soon got more enthusiastic to capture urban vistas and interior shots of the hotels I've stayed as a self-proclaimed hotel addict. I was then using my beloved pocket camera, Leica C-Lux 1 but soon realized that discrimination does exist, because alot of flickrian do not take you seriously if you are a pocket camera owner. I always want to prove that it is not the camera that matters, because if you have the eye, skill, passion and artistic value, you could produce good works too.

So in 2008 I took my first shot with a very humble Olympus E-500 DSLR just to get more serious in photography, but also I want to satisfy my dream to take long exposure shots of busy roads and intersection.. those beautiful light trails. I finally did it.

Over the past year, I have been so fortunate to get alot of offers to publicize and commercialize some of my photos, including offers to be the cover and feature article shots for numerous inflight magazines, including Singapore Airlines; and the most recent from the Travel & Leisure magazine, in partnership with CNN. Some of my photos have been featured in online news, online travel publication, and even a presentation for KPF at Harvard University in the past. But most of the times I declined those offers because I do not intend to get into the foray of commercialism; and most of my shots include properties that might have copyrights, i.e: hotels and buildings, so I might need to get permissions.

As with the recent invitation from the Getty Images that flatters me, I got into the same problem. But whether or not I'm participating in it, I would like to express my gratitute and excitement to have achieved this along the way.

i missed flickr faves on the blue hour today ... even though work is keeping me busy, i still took some breaks this week to look at these images, which get my head out of the office.

A couple more shots from last week with the FFF+ at Torquay.

This is probably one of the most famous dams in the US and certainly one of the most famous in the world I’m sure. The depression-era Hoover Dam is certainly worth the 35 minute trip from Las Vegas to see. This shot was taken with the Rokinon 12mm Fisheye lens which is my latest new lens.

This is very unusual mosaic. Finally different doll type than pullip or bjd is taking over 2 pics in the mosaic. 😄 Neemo photo (Trust me, Sakura) got most views and also most faves. Thank you very much! <33 Shinku´s (No wind today) photo received most comments and Papin´s (Slow down) photo is my personal favourite. Thanks for the year and happy dolling in the future! ^__^ 💞

"CONCEPT"

Noun

1. an idea or thought, esp. a generalized idea of a thing or class of things; abstract notion

2. a. an original idea, design, etc.; conception

b. a central or unifying idea or theme

Word origin

conceptus

Webster’s New World College Dictionary

Conceptual art is a form of art in which the concept is paramount to the visual or sensory components of the finished artwork. This type of art emphasizes the importance of an idea or concept over technique and aesthetic, largely used to express the abstract. It emerged as a movement in the early 1960s reaching into the mid-1970s. Conceptual art can look or be nearly anything the artist decides. Unlike other forms of art, it is not defined by physical forms, but rather the foundation of a concept that serves as the engine of creating art.
