I believe this is a Rufous hummingbird, based on the ID pictures I'm looking at.

I received a private flickr mail to say I had made a mistake and Friday is always Flickr Happy Fence Friday or some such rubbish. Now I might have a bit of a reputation for thinking differently to the mainstream, apparently different to anyone else in the whole world, but I've always thought it was Fungus Friday. Sure that I wasn't wrong I entered " Happy Fungus Friday", I entered those three words in Flickr Search. Well, I felt vindicated to see there are one thousand, five hundred and twelve postings under those tags. So I'm not alone. Today is also called Happy Fungus Friday whether some people like it or not.

Having my faith in myself suitably restored I decided to see how many also people believe that snails hop. Again entering "snail hop" into flickr search I found 446 postings. Indeed, this is also significant proof, and no mere coincidence, that indeed snails do hop. Make sure you go out in the garden to see this magnificent sight.

I cant believe I hadnt uploaded this image before now.

I shot this May 30th in the hight of my Epson R-D1 shooting phase. Ive gone trhough a lot of cameras this year let alone film. I just with I had grabbed this on slide film, because its a jpg image not RAW, and I think its a little flat.

I sot it on the corner of Virginia and 5th in downtown Seattle, which is a no flash corner at the start of the summer in the early evenings.

I had the R-D1 and my stock 15mm which becomes a 21mm. I was walking by and out of the corner of my eye I saw this very tall young girl, bound accross the street, what a glide! I back handed the camera, and felt the shutter go, this happened. That 15mm is is the only anti-focus lens for rangefinder, that and maybe the 12mm. It was probably wide open because there is considerable vignetting.

Ive been showcasing this image along with a few others over the summer and have had a lot of interest in my work recently.

I think this is one of my most exciting and favorite street images.

I hope you like it too.

Beta feedback : Completed / Top ideas / Hot ideas

---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------

Beta is a test preview of the change that is getting ready to be implemented soon. It can be for a limited group of flickr members, intended to seek feedback and correct faults ( if any), before it is made public.

Change is good and public has always welcomed good changes. The preference for Windows XP by most people even after the introduction of Vista is a classic example of public acceptance. The public liked and preferred the predecessor ( Windows XP ) and the follower ( Windows 7 and Windows 8 ) versions of Vista. A change is good and often gladly welcomed by public, if it provides more utilities and user friendliness, without depriving even a single advantage of the predecessor.

The Beta version is unacceptable to the majority of Flickr users* ( who happened to experience it ) , because it's not user friendly and has only disadvantages to mention. *Please check the Beta feedback : Completed / Top ideas / Hot ideas

The layout itself is a disaster. Please check : Try our new photo experience beta / Comment box

However they try, it's quite evident that it's impossible to provide more space for descriptions, comment box, and comments; not to mention comments with pictures , group invites / awards. The more they try to fix it, the more cumbersome it becomes. The buddy icons now appear as dots making the page more unaesthetic than what you see in the earlier pictures of beta . They are desperately trying to make it appealing and user friendly, which is literally impossible with the proposed layout .

It's a big challenge for the programmers to try find means to provide more space in a vertical column which is already cramped.

A Group photo of the Flickr Meet Columbus group while on a private tour of the Southern Theater given by CAPA.

Our quick group photo before the end of our tour... I wish I had my normal length lens for this, but my wife Joleen took off with it. So we have a wide angle perspective of the group photo... Look at the larger image for more detail.. this photo was taken at the end of the tour, so some folks had already left (I think we had about 45 people in total).
