Dried fish, Sri Lanka, June 2011. Note that the fish have been entrailed, and split vertically before being dried.
Irni jotting down on her slate the family of fish that she was able to identify during a dive at Tokong Timur, Tenggol Island. Ocean Elements ran the PADI Fish Identification Specialty course during the Project AWARE Underwater Cleanup 2008 event.
Took this with my Blackberry (Darn - didn't have my camera). Saw this fish at an exotic fish store. This was the most awesome fish. It actually interacts with you - will follow your hands in front of the aquarium and has expression. Truly a "dog / fish". Very entertaining!

Some fried fish in a local restaurant. Cost was very cheap - about the equivalent of €2/2.50 with some bread included. Great value for money!
Where do the fish come from in my tank?
Lake Malawi is 560 kilometers long and 75 kilometers wide at the widest point, which gives it a total surface area of almost 30,000 square kilometers. Mbuna means rock-dweller in one of the local languages, and it is a very suitable name for these cichlids since they inhabit the shallow and rocky regions along the shores of Lake Malawi, hence all the rocks in my fish tank.
A huge school of Seargent Major fish, and few others, totally surrounding my photographic effort.
Single shot tonemapped in photomatix and adjusted in photoshop.
