We spent a day snorkelling on the Great Barrier reef, where I tried using a cheap waterproof camera, it turned out it wasn’t waterproof.
The quality of the pictures was quite poor unless you got very close to the subject and I also found using the screen to frame the photo very difficult and often lost the fish before getting a shot.
In the end I only got a few pictures and most are not very good, but at least it is a reminder of a great day on the reef.
Top Catch Fish & Chippery along Errol Street. We were settling our bank accounts at the nearby bank when we got hungry so the staff at Commonwealth bank reccomended us the fish and chippery down the road.
15 Aus for a huge load of fish and chips. The gravy sauce was sinfuly good on a cold breezy Melbourne afternoon (7 degrees with 42km/h winds). Now if only they sold some beer here......

Lake Victoria had once a diverse eco-system with hundreds of species of fish. With the introduction of the Nile perch in the 70s this has more or less disappeared. This is where they dry fish to make "Harðfiskur", they dry Haddock, "Melanogrammus aeglefinus" and we Icelanders love it! Very rich in protein :) they also dry Seawolf (Anarhichas lupus) and that tastes even better than Haddock dried!
Fish Lake is a high alpine lake (elevation approximately 8,848 ft or 2,700 m) located in the Fishlake/ Southern Wasatch Plateau region of south-central Utah, United States. It lies within and is the namesake of the Fishlake National Forest.
Fish Lake, six miles long and one mile wide, lies in a geologic structure known as a graben valley. It is bounded by the Mytoge Mountains on the southeast shore which sharply rise about 1,000 feet (300 m) above the lake level. Along the northwest shore, the lake is bounded by Fish Lake Hightop Plateau (summit elevation 11,600 ft / 3,500 m). The lake has an average depth of 85 ft (26 m) and has a maximum depth of 175 feet (53 m).
The lake is best known for its sport fishing — particularly its large lake trout (also known as mackinaw). In addition there are Yellow Perch located near the shores and have a 50 count limit as they are non-native. Mackinaw are caught every summer upwards of 25 lb (10 kg). The lake is stocked by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources fish hatchery in Glenwood. The region sees heavy snowfall in the winter, with snowfall occurring as late as June in any given year. For this reason tourist activity is at its peak in the summer months.
