A Korean Augmentee to the U.S. Army (KATUSA) soldier, cares for a simulated shock victim during a first aid evaluation at the KATUSA Training Center, Camp Jackson, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 30, 1998. Originally begun in 1950, the KATUSA program was designed to augment U.S. fighting forces just after the breakout of the Korean War. After the armistice KATUSA soldiers remained with 8th Army units to enhance mission capability. Korean enlistees attend a 20 day training program at the center where they refine their English language skills, and learn about American culture as well as U.S. Army structure and methods. NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND - JULY 26: The 50th anniversary of when when Bob Dylan plugged in and shocked the Newport Folk Festival and greater musical world was celebrated and concluded by a freewheeling set of Dlyan songs. The surprise guests included David Rawlings and Gillian Welch, Willie Watson, Dawes, John McCauley and Ian O'Neil of Deer Tick, Al Kooper (who was in Dylan's band that day), members of Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Robyn Hitchcock. Other performances include Hozier, Shakey Graves, J Mascis, First Aid Kit, Laura Marling, Lord Huron, Blake Mills, the Music Maker Relief Foundation and more. Shot at Fort Adams State Park in Rhode Island on Sunday, July 26.

A group of students carries SRO Tom Reupke to the "triage area." On Thursday, Sept. 22, GetFit magnet program students participated in a mock first-aid re-enactment. Armed with plastic bags filled with first-aid materials such as gloves and gauzes, teams assisted 15 “victims” who had suffered various injuries, including a sprained ankle, a head wound and a compound arm fracture. The injuries were created with fake wounds and blood; the victims were faculty and staff who had volunteered. Each victim had a rubric detailing critical elements for the student to address and complete.

I've always wondered about this old first aid sign. It's on the side of a building near City Hall.

Surprising that the wall can still support the weight of this old First Aid Box.
