13th Annual Darrell Cronin Memorial First Aid Competition
Master Warrant Officer Greg Smit created the competition in 2001 in memory of Darrell Cronin and Jean Roy, two Search and Rescue Technicians that gave their lives while completing a medical mission in 1998. It is now conducted each year at 9 Wing Gander to increase cadet knowledge of First Aid, provide an opportunity for critiquing their skills, and to promote good safety habits during the performance of First Aid procedures
