Blah, blah, Proust, blah. Look, old man, if you love the madeleine so, why don't you just bake some? They're not hard.

Today Ella picked up another kids bicycle in the playground and stared to cycle it around. For me it was a joyous moment. There was no pressure on her to do it, the time was right.

Well, I can see I went over the 1100 calories per day limit on several days but under on others. It evens out to 1127 kcals per day so I hope the scales will be kind tomorrow. (they were - another pound off).
a roll of thread from my mother's sewing box. this is my first shot ever (test shot, if you will), using a technique that i just learned of the other day. to say that i feel i've opened a door to a whole new world is a great understatement. this knowledge was passed along by a fellow flickrer who has used it quite extensively. i was so impressed with the effects on her photos i had to ask her how she was doing it. reverse lens macro, was her answer. the rest as they is about to be history. i've seen it (unknowingly) applied to flowers and lots of pretty things, giving them a softness and beauty beyond description. i can't wait to apply it to so many "man" things and see what evolves. thank you fellow flickrer....i shall be forever grateful.
Great shoot with firsttime-model Sarina. Was a lot of fun! She's shot with 50mm F1.4 USM, lit by a Speedlite 420EXII, triggered wirelessly by Cactus V5's, diffused by Rogue Flashbender softboxkit, angeled at about 45 degrees to the models left.
FIRSTTIME.
Just kidding. I'm cheating.
Playing with macro/micro settings on my horrid grainy camera. This is. Kay. Here we go.
1970 First-time with a toy dress-up-kit from Woolworth's. Note the fake eyelashes attached to the pink cateye glasses and the astronaut tee-shirt.
I know it's a crappy photo but the light was very low and I had to capture the historic moment.
Watching kids ice skate is a nerve wracking business, but no one seems to get badly hurt,,, just a little bruised and very wet.
This isn't the best shot, by any means, but I have to post it because it's the first time I've seen AND photographed sandhill cranes! I knew they weren't Canada geese, and I was certain they weren't great blue herons since they don't fly with their necks extended and they don't congregate like this (as far as I know). I didn't know what they were for sure until I got home, uploaded my shots, and saw the photo on my PC's screen.
I'm familiar with sandhill cranes only through the amazing, AMAZING photos my friend Laura / rowrlm has posted on her stream (CHECK THEM OUT!! here's one of them!).... I dedicate this post to Laura, knowing that the thrill I had in seeing these gorgeous creatures today pales in comparison to the passion and enthusiasm and love she has for them.
Below is an only slightly cropped but unlightened version of the shot.
Eh, it's grainy, but if you want, go ahead and View On Black
We're crashing
Into the unknown
We're lost in this
But it feels like home
Taking a break from studying...
I watched the Lifehouse concert last night. It was okay but they didn't sing Everything :(
Uhm...this picture is so random, it was raining all day today, it was awesome. I'm probably the only one who opens their windows when it rains. And yeah, Tommy Pickles....haha
The world’s latest wide-body aircraft, Airbus A350 landed in Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest for the first time today.
Lufthansa’s ultra-modern aircraft arrived in the Hungarian capital to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the German airline launching its first regular flight to four CEE cities including Belgrade, Budapest, Bucharest and Zagreb.
Following a tradition of nearly 40 years set by Boeing 737, 747 Jumbo and the world’s largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380, Lufthansa is now the first airline to present the most state-of-the-art passenger plane in the world in Hungary.

For the first time on their lives, This mother and her two daughter had gotten to see the ocean. they were part of a christian mission for poor people from Antananarivo that helps by providing few days of holidays.
The 3 of them had spent all the morning to see the sea and smell the air, happy to feel it in real but afraid to touch the water, even with their feet.
