Es ist das erste mal, dass ich mich an einem Halloween-Kürbis versucht habe. Es war ein ganz kleiner Zierkürbis und ich sag's mal so: schön ist anders, aber schlimmer geht immer ;)

It's the first time I've tried a Halloween Pumpkin. It was a very small ornamental pumpkin and I would say: it's not a beauty, but I've seen some more worst then mine own one ;)

I went back inside to show Guru that he could come back in through the cat flap, and Muse bulldozed past me to join Guru in the enclosure. Guru seems a bit awed by Muse (even though the are the same age), and I love his face in this set of 3 shots... peering over Guru's shoulder, sticking close for reassurance.

Thank you for the challenge! My first ever (intentional) double exposure and in Macro... wow! My camera does not have a double exposure mode so I had to figure out how to use the GIMP program some nice Tech guy had loaded on my computer a long time ago, but I never used.... let's just say Google is my friend! LOL. This is a picture looking straight down into a glass of ginger ale (lit by flashlight) with a candle photo overlaid on top. The glass is 3 wide at the top diameter and the candle no more than an inch.

Beaver at Pabco trailhead. First time I've seen one out of the water and it was amazing! It doesn't seem like it in the photo but they are pretty big. I"m used to only seeing them moving about in the water.

The child watching the ocean & listening the sound of waves first time. captured at Tondivali beach, Malvan, Maharashtra.

I know i know, i didn't posted for a while now, that's a shame. I wanted to make that one for halloween, i got grabbed away by RL, but now i've more time!

Legend, my youngest Tibetan Mastiff and his reluctance to come in after it had started to snow. This was his first snow.

in a restaurant window

this was my first time shooting at snow place. Imagine a Caribbean guy in the middle of the mountain in Canada, all cover by white.

This is by far not perfect as a photograph but it's a memory of a first time.

I will be back later to visit with everyone. I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday - the weather here is absolutely gorgeous today!

Today, on August 30, 2022, there was hail that was quickly transformed into sleet / snow Settled on the Aghios Antōnios (St. Anthony) peak (9,245 ft / 2,815 m) on Mt. Olympus, Greece.

Loud thunders accompanied the hailing, so one had to quickly descend at a lower and safer altitude (the emergency shelter Costas Migkotzidis’) of 7,710 ft / 2,350 m. It is from there that the shot was taken.

sunrise,

its a pretty nice sight to see.

OK, this is really my second time, but this is my daughter's first experience getting to explore the inside of a lava tube. My daughter and I took a side trip up to the Mojave National Preserve to see this natural wonder. One of my Flickr friends turned me on to this place when he posted some pictures of it on his photostream. I knew I would have to visit here on my next trip to Joshua Tree. I was in my fifties the first time I explored the lava tube near Lassen N. P. and hopefully my daughter will get to pass the experience on to someone else. This is the photo my daughter and I chose to post for day three of our Joshua Tree road trip.

The two hour trip over here had one misadventure when I made the mistake of trying to pull off the side of the road and ended up getting stuck in the sand. A very good Samaritan, named Matt, came to my rescue by pulling me out with his tow rope. Yes, there are still a lot of good honest helpful people out there. I just got repaid one of my good deeds in a big way.

There is no sign telling you where to turn off the main road to get to the lava tube, a tiny sign telling you to turn left off the dirt road, again no sign where to park, and no sign telling you to walk another 200 feet up the hill to the opening. Luckily my daughter had the GPS on her phone turned on and she told me to stop because we had just passed it. Another family was behind me would've driven right past it if we hadn't stopped. It all just seemed to add to the adventure.

When we got into the lava

tube, the sunlight was still coming through the three holes in the roof of the lava tube very dramatically. We were lucky because there was a forecast of rain and the clouds were moving in quickly. I was able to just finish shooting the third hole in the tube when the light completely disappeared behind the clouds. By the time we were finishing our lunch, the rain was coming down. Someone was definitely watching over me on this trip.

(P.S. If you want to explore this lava tube, I had a GPS sensor on my camera and the exact location is on the map. Happy Clicking!)

So lucky to visit Miami this year, grabbed this first morning walking down the beach trying to sort out the jet lag!

This little pal from under water is so cute! Get it @ TARDFISH

You can found it at Tardfish!

I had been sat feeding the small birds and various tits in our local park and was surprised at the number of robins chasing each other around. This pair in particular had been together in some of the small bushes then dropping individually for food. It was shortly after that I caught them mating in the undergrowth, the first time that I have actually seen robins mate.

The first HST painted in full Virgin Trains East Coast livery emerged yesterday. 43311 and 43312 look resplendent as they ease into Edinburgh working 1S20 KGX to Aberdeen. As seen on the cover of the August 2015 issue of 'The Railway Magazine'.

I went out to see Muse and Guru enjoying the cat enclosure, but - nope! - they both wanted back inside.

It rained as it never has rained in November. Our hand-made dam or "wier" is holding against the mountain torrent in full flow and power! As far as I know it was the 1st time a weir was made in a Greek island.
