"For all of us it was our first time to the boundary waters. Back Row guide Ray, Dave Anderson Now a Professor at UNI, Perry Thomas now a construction Foreman, Reed Who was later a staff member in 1978&80 And his Dad who at 80 in 09 is still dancing every chance he gets. Front Row John Ohnshat who is Mayor of a small town and has his own plumbing business,Curt Griffin, Scott Fitzgerald. for some reason we made it to the Canadian customs office to late or with out paper work so were denied candian accsess. so we went up the man chain, the sisters lower Ottertrack saw Rootbeer Dorthy for the first time. Memories the water so clear you could see the bottom and see crawdads as big as lobsters and being told you whole life you are lying, catching a fish one fish that feed all nine of us until we were full. Lashing all three canoes together strapping the dining fly as a bellow sail and sailing for near an hour. and The Portages that not only never seem to end but the misquotes seem to know you can not swat them because your hands are full."

The world’s latest wide-body aircraft, Airbus A350 landed in Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest for the first time today.
Lufthansa’s ultra-modern aircraft arrived in the Hungarian capital to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the German airline launching its first regular flight to four CEE cities including Belgrade, Budapest, Bucharest and Zagreb.
Following a tradition of nearly 40 years set by Boeing 737, 747 Jumbo and the world’s largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380, Lufthansa is now the first airline to present the most state-of-the-art passenger plane in the world in Hungary.

Not sure about posting this.
Been wanting to try something a bit different as I have been sticking to one thing and now have the time and need to at least try other areas.
Shot in my flat with light coming from the window. F4.5 at 44mm and 1/20sec. Quite difficult doing self portraits as you don't know how it will come out lighting and all. I suppose its a bit like long exposures in that respect. Quite happy with the results from the lens as don't normally use it (17-85mm Canon)
Converted to B&W using Color Effex Pro. Did try a tonemapped version and it scared me as it ages you by about 10 years or maybe that's how I look in real life....
Any comments much appreciate as I need to learn so no need to be nice.

Went to the mall this morning, was going to try to capture people behaving badly, there wasn't much of that. I haven't been there for years, and since the last time, they took out the ice skating rink, and put in this carousel. I found some of the character rides a little odd...Doesn't this one look inviting to small children?

I'm trying to get my wife re-interested in SL. We went to Kona and while she went to the kitchen to make a sandwich, I took some pictures. She still thinks SL is "an exercise in frustration built around vague buttons and endless menus."
And yes... I created her avatar. Getting her to embrace (hell... tolerate even) SL may be fruitless quest.

This shallow DOF is my first guitar, an applause with 2 single coil (xk-110) and 1 humbucker (xk-120) pickups. I have owned it since the early 90's.
We always remember our firsts - first girlfriend, first car, and I definetly remember my first guitar lessons. Lessons were in the basement of a guitar shop in midtown. The instructor had long hair and a raspy voice from smoking too many cigarettes. He had these super long fingers and could play any song I could think of. I always asked for newer stuff, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the Smashing Pumpkins, and he liked to play the classics, Clapton, Hendrix, and Zepplin.
His main emphasis was to focus on the basics first and leave the fancy stuff for later. Unfortunately, I didn't stick with lessons for long as money was limited and I was still in school. Still, I learned the basics chords and that sparked a life time appreciation for music.
