This was the first ever lens I bought, after I got my first SLR. It feels like a life time ago but it only been 2 1/2 years!

I finally replaced her with the 1.4 version a month or so back and I should really sell her, but it's never easy to part with something that has created so many wonderful memories!

Finally, some flowers in my yard! We planted lilacs last year and now we're finally gonna have some flowers! Our bushes are very small yet but have these pretty little purple flowers...I'm happy! lol...:)

So, I thought I would try an emulsion lift last night. I've never done it before so I chose a shot I didn't care if I ruined, which is why this is kinda lame. I'll do a better shot next time. BUT, after I lifted it onto a piece of paper it was way to lame for all that work, so I put it on another shot (taken with my 680) instead.

Interestingly, both shots are of the same thing. My new Christmas ornament, these red birds.

Floral illustrations from one of the most influential botanical artists, Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708–1770), German botanist and entomologist. He started his career as a gardener's apprentice traveling and working across Europe. Ehret was known for his Linnaean style of botanical illustrations since he closely worked with the "father of modern taxonomy", Carl Linnaeus. Ehret collaborated with Carl Linnaeus and George Clifford on his first botanical collection. We have digitally enhanced some of his botanical plates into high resolution printable quality. After just over 10 years of presence, it is time to bid farewell to Marshall capital darts at First Glasgow. With former FIrst Kernow caetano darts having now being allocated to their respective depots at Scotstoun and Lanarkshire, the half dozen or so marshall capital darts remaining in the fleet at these depots can finally be withdrawn from service.
